how to raise humidity in 2'x2'x5' veg tent

currently having problem with low humidity in small veg tent. Plants are about 3 weeks old and growing slower than usual due to low r/h. The temperature is approx. 73-75 degrees F and humidity is @16%. Plants are on top shelf of an adjustable wire rack. I am considering placing a propagation tray on bottom shelf under the plants and filling it about 1/3 full of water to try to raise the humidity. Any thoughts on if this will actually help? Do I need to have a fan blowing across it, or will it just rise on its own? Is this even worth the trouble? Will it attract gnats? Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks

If you are using a powerful exhaust fan, turn it down or get a smaller one. How many fans do you have running? Too much air will lower your rh. Do you live in a dry, arid environment like the desert or something? If so, you may consider a cheap used humidifier if the other suggestions don't work.

I’ve heard people suggest wet towels OP. Then when your plants are big enough it should come up. So all the other things suggested also turn down your fans etc.

Wet towel bumped humidity up by about 5-10% for me. I had time on my hands so I also frequently sprayed all surfaces and plants inside with spray bottle on mist.

I use a 6" duct fan for exhaust in a 2x2x5 tent for veg. I am not sure why but when I added a fan inside the tent blowing over the plants it brought the humidity right up to 30%. Instead of towels I was using trays of water. I worry about misting with lights on because the light can work like a magnifying glass and burn the droplets. Plants are getting bigger as well, which in turn is in fact helping bring it up as well. Thank you all for replying, it is much appreciated :peace:
