How to sex when you're already flowering mothers

so I've got a mama growing in the flowering room. And I've got a bunch more clones waiting to be moved over in a few weeks.

But I also started another bagweed strain from seed and it has plants that I could now clone off of and then place their clones into the flowering room. But is that risky? what if one of these new plants is a male plant? If I flower it but eliminate it as soon as I see balls, will I be fine for still getting some nice sensimillia?

The bud I smoked was pretty different from these strains. One was highly fragrant and had a super body high. The other was just plain ol bagweed. So I'd like to see what I can do with either one. But I also have quality ordered seed that I'm waiting to use until I figure out my mistakes with these lousy seeds.

It is risky. Plan things out ahead of time so you don't have things overlapping (like this). Makes life simplier.

ok, that's what I was worried about. Maybe I should build a small box with a light to force a single clone to sex. I've got a spare pump...Hmmmmm. I smell a project cooking up!

lol, yay project! i don't know about anyone else, but i have so much fun working out a solution for a problem and implementing it.

yeah, but mogie's right. planning would have been better. more smoke, less effort and cost. but I didn't know that when I planted all these friggin seeds. now it seems a waste to just annihilate a bunch of plants...especially since it's a strain that I don't have a mother from yet.

male pods appear between the leaf and stalk. every male i've ever seen shows single small pods off of the main stem first. if you check daily you should be able to catch them before the pods open. i'm pretty sure they take at least a week or two to fully develop and open. unless you crush the pods or the flowers open you should be able to remove them before pollenization.

I'm actually preparing a big post of all of my plants to try and get some opinions on what I should do. I think your input will be really helpful.

i put 2 seedlings that are 6 weeks old in my flower room 2 nights ago. i am going to let them show sex then put them Back into veg. we'll see what happens.

I'm not actually even proposing re-veging my plants. Ideally I'd like to clone an unknown plant and then throw one clone into flowering to see if it's male. If you're right, I could watch for balls and if they occurred I could destroy the male and it's father as long as I monitored the son closely.
