A. how many police dogs do you see in airports?
B. they arent generally for drugs, they are for bombs.
You see a police dog is trained as a partner and protector first, then secondly given a secondary skill, it may be trained to find dope, or maybe marijuana, or maybe meth, but not all types of drugs. They may be trained to find nitro based explosives, or maybe composites but not all types of explosive materials. A working dog as they are called are trained in a very narrow scope because they get confused easily and become none viable in theatre.

People that try to cover the smell of weed from dogs by using coffee and other substances would be out of luck if dog trained to sniff marijuana was present. Masking substances just won't work on a properly trained dog. The sense of smell of a dog is so specific, they will just say, "hey, I smell coffee, I smell plastic, hey there's marijuana!" (they alert because they think it's their favorite toy/ball. That's how their trained). Drug dogs have found weed inside sealed plastic, inside a full gas tank. If the odor can permeate through the gasoline and the outside of the gas tank and, don't think that coffee or anything else will work.
When you put weed in a bag, then touch the outside of the bag, you will transfer some microscopic material, with the odor to the outside of the bag.
After you put it in a bag, put on some latex gloves and then drop the bag into an open vacuum pack. Remove the gloves before handling the new outer bag, then seal it. The odor will permeate through the outside of the bag eventually (even glass has microscopic pores that allow odor to permeate through), but it does take some time and the smaller the microscopic holes, like in the vacuum sealed bags (regular baggies are very permeable), the longer it takes.
If you do this just before you leave for the airport, there won't be enough time for the odor to permeate the outer bag and even if they happen to have a marijuana trained dog around (most are trained to smell bomb material) they shouldn't alert. It seems like a lot of work, but if you're really paranoid, it will help.

i smoke shit tons before i fly and have walked past dogs at the airport.
me and several friends have taken weed on planes. 2 ways we've done it.
1. put a small amount in an altoids can and when they scan it in the xrays they cant see in cause its metal and they dont open it to check it.
2. check your bags and go get a "durex" jock itch spray can from a head shop and put as much as you can fit in there and put it in your suit case. make sure you check it.
my buddy did the durex one the first time and his bag even got the NSA 'we searched your bag' notice and still had all the weed in the durex can. i mean its not like they really wanna mess with your jock itch spray.

The problem is that there are no bombs in the airports. Zero. When have you ever heard of a bomb in a airport? Those dogs would never find anything. NEVER. Well there was that nut with something in his shoe, but that was England. The TSA occasionally claims to have found a "suspected" pipe bomb, but it always turns out to be nothing.
Don't kid yourself. Dogs are there for drugs. Lots of drugs at airports, but bombs? Not so much.

very true but there number one priority is passenger safety. bombs would be what they are looking for more than anything. why would some weed inflict airline safety? no really i wish i could ask someone who makes that decision that question.

I fly to Cabo San Lucas for vacation every winter. Last year went to dispensary bought bunch of pre-rolls, and pack of Marlboros. Used razor to carefully/discreetly open the cellophane wrapper threw cigs in trash and replaced with pre-rolls. Replaced the cellophane and stuffed it in my (check-in ) luggage. When got to Mexico, waltzed right past customs and K-9's, hailed a cab and enjoyed my week in paradise. Presumably hash even easier to sneak. I must note however that I'm retarded and should be ignored.
p.s. The buy when you get there method wasn't for me because Mexican weed is DOGSHIT.

I smuggled some weed to Jamacia about 4 years ago. I just put it in my underware and made it passed the x-rays then I saw a guy with a dog just watching things. I did not have to get very close to the dog, just kept my cool and walked over to the smoke room, no problems. They didn't search us when we got to Jamacia, so I didn't have any problems getting through customs. But I soon realized I didn't have to go through the trouble I went to. I was offered weed at a gas station on our way to the hotel. I was offered some more from the guy carrying our luggage. So if you ever go to Jamacia, don't bother bringing any along.
