I know that lots of people go nuclear over spider mites but a couple of grows ago I got spider mites just before harvest - about a week or so - and I just took the plants outside and hosed them off gently with water. I did that again in a couple of days and I didn't see mites again before the harvest. I did allow the plants to dry for a while outside before putting them back in their space but I never had an issue with mold/mildew.
I haven't tried soap and water but that would probably be even more effective and wouldn't harm your buds. During veg, I use neem oil a couple of times but I don't like using oils after flower as I'm afraid that there would be some residual taste....now I haven't done it so I can't say for sure.
