How to stop plants from stretching in flower

So I got my girl scout cookie clones two weeks into flower and they just wont stop stretching! every morning I have to raise my lights 1 or 2 inches so that the canopy is about 3-4 inches away from light. (2x240w blackstar LED's) So what im wondering is is there any way to stop this "flower stretch" or is it just genetics? Because im starting to guess this strain of GSC is a lot of sativa this is my first grow ever so any help is appreciative.

but chu can cut back on it wit a mh or cmh light and also wit flourescent tubes very close to tops adjust them daily a half inch or so - can also use cfls for this plants cant go as close as tubes
will end wit much closer internode spacing 4 sure

High powered metal halide will help control stretch in flower. It is good to leave them under MH for the first two weeks after sexing to help keep it shorter.

Growing in a closet that's why I went LED for heat reasons. But ive never supercropped kinda scared to snap that stem! But How much longer will this stretch go for?

Don't cut or supercrop unless you try other options 1st...
You are using JUST LED's-- KNOWN to not do well alone in flower unless you use a shitload of em.. they DO help increase the spectrum- but not as much output.. you can add a 150w HPS and help them out a bit-- or even a T5 fixture-- keep the T5 and the LED's right down almost touching the plants- the closer the light- the less the stretch---

How well are they budding? If not that far along- LST them by either weighing donw the upper 1/3 of the branches with heavy fishing weights on string (not too tight- don't let it cut in!) or by tying the branches down with string to the rim of the planter at a 45degree (+/-) angle and letting them grow back up to the light...

Not enough light and they will stretch all thru flower and be wispy/weak plants with only popcorn buds... at least you asked and are trying to fix it- you can most likely get this flipped and do well! ;)

I don't know anything about your LEDs, but throwing some 6500K cdl's in their face should slow them down a bit.

call a grow store... theres a hormone you can give them that stops veg. growth but allows buds to continue... cant remember the name but i have a buddy uses it every grow with success

I run my Mh for the first 2 weeks. Along with grow nutes. Then switch to hps and hit them with grow and bloom nutes.
