How to tell when to harvest from budding phase FIM or TOP too late?

I have a couple of plants that are almost 90 days old and on 1 Dec I am putting them into the flowering phase and was wondering if it was too late to FIM or TOP?

Also, they are different strains and I am not exactly sure how to tell when to actually harvest the plant?

Guesstimation huh?

I believe that topping and FIM'ming should be done in veg with enough time for the plant to recover from the process before flowering. I would say do it soon to give them a week or two to 'heal'.



You can use that as a guide to know when to harvest. Magnifying glass or pocket scopes are pretty cheap, I picked up one from RadioShack for $12.
