I would take a look at the party cup grow thread before making any assumptions about bigger pots and bigger buds. I think the poster is del66666.

I'm doing the same thing right now! I have trimmed the roots off the sides of the soil once already and tonight I am going to cut the bottom quarter of the soil and roots out and add new dirt to my party cup. I know it would like a larger pot but I'm growing it for the party cup thread!

My plants do better with larger buckets inside or outside, That's why I usually put clones straight into 3 or 5 gallon buckets.

haha maybe not. i was thinking "no guts, no glory". As in you were taking chances and doing well with your grow.

AHHHH! I didn't think it was meant to be mean, just didn't get it! The name comes from actually not having guts! I had a lot of them cut out due to ulcerative colitis!

no holes in the bottem?
There are holes in the bottom just not large enough for dirt to fall out! All I do is take a steak knife and poke the tip in and spin it to make a few holes. The Lowes 5 gallon buckets have a little lip around the bottom that lets the water fall down and keeps the bucket up off the bottom. I cut a few notches out of the bottom lit so that the water can spread out instead of getting trapped under the bucket.

my thoughts exactly..... he stated from jump he's doing a party cup grow so all the transplant suggestions are just wasted breath

People keep telling him to get a bigger pot, obviously he's not trying to. I've done a party cup grow before. Roots did start coming out the top but they die when exposed to air. The main thing I had to worry about was watering and feeding every day. But that was an autoflower, which like a lot of root space but it got chopped before i had any major problems. And yes she was tiny.

That is insane that you got that plant that big in a party cup. I have taken and washed, trimmed and replanted a certain plant I had twice. Once for a fungal infection from green soil, the other just to give it fresh dirt without exceeding a 3 gallon pot. It recovered both times, but just barely. It looked as if it would die for quite some time but then the very tips of the branches would start producing leaves again. It's a pretty touch and go operation, but it can be done. Foliar feeding might be a real good idea to help recovery.
