How to use Giant 125w Light

Hi,

I'm going to begin a micro grow and have bought a giant 125w envirolite which uses an E40 fitting, I need to fix the light to a wall so it hangs horizontally above the plants. Should I buy a hanger and try to stick it to the wall or a ceramic E40 lampholder? And If I go for the lampholder how do I wire this up?

Many Thanks,
PC.

I use exactly the same lights but you'll probably need more than one. I have mine in reflectors that come with the E40 lampholder, no wiring just screw it in and hang it up. Or you can just buy a E40 socket with cable attached and just hang, that would be vertical though. I would never mess around connecting a socket to the wall to much messing around

Thanks for the reply, but do you think it would be possible to but an E40 envirolite hanger, that goes straight from the light to a plug, and mount it horizontally with somethingas basic as tape?

I dont really understand you. I think you should just buy a hanger/reflector with an E40 socket in it then hang that from the top of your grow room with wire or string.

If I buy a seperate ceramic E40 light holder for a couple of quid, how do you wire these, and is it safe?

Many thanks.

I have no experience or knowlege of electrics so I probably better not risk it!

Would it be possible to run the light beside the plants in the middle of my growbox and grow plants on either side?

Because one of the thin walls of my grow box has a hole in it, i'm tempted to buy the hanger and just push the socket end throught the hole half way and tape it up or fix it in place with some bits of metal and screws. Do you not think this would be possible? It's just I can get a hanger for £2 whilst a reflector will cost me the best part of thirty.

Thanks for your help so far.
