How would you deal with these mites?

And apparently my original statement isn't correct. These specs didn't just appear, they were there when I first got the stuff it's just more obvious now maybe because it's dried out?

It's definitely not Trichs... I have those too and it's about 50/50 (milky and amber) but these look SPECIFICALLY like snowballs with snow flaking off and there are NO trichs from what i've seen in my research that look like this. I wish I could get you guys a clear picture becuase without a doubt you'll understand what i'm talking about if you saw it.

Also these aren't like eggs hanging from a string or something like this, they have a stem that comes from the buds and ends with the snowball looking thing.

Without a doubt this is what I got. Man this fucking seriously sucks, it's $400 of weed.

Can I do anything to kill the spores? I deal a lot with mold since I live in Costa Rica. If you leave it in the sun it will kill live mold spores but I don't know if leaving this in the sun is a good idea.

The one thing I can say is that since yesterday when I found this i've had the top off many times and for some reason most of the white specs have gone away.

I'm sure i've smoked moldy weed before because i've got wet stuff and mold grows anywhere in this country due to air being like 80% moisture.

Any suggestions???? Aside from throwing $400 down the drain?

yer all i can think of doing is get sum air in it and keep it dry. or take it back?

is it old weed from last summer or the summer b4 that? your dealer may have sprayed that weed to make it a bit moist,

nah he just cropped... This kinda stuff doesn't stay around for long in this country. I opened it up and let it dry for a couple hours now and it's doing much better barely any white specs on it anymore. However i've been moving it around a bit. I took of a little piece and checked it and there are still some spores not much but there is some left.

Anyway I smoked it yesterday not knowing and i'm fine today. I think it was the way I stored it which caused this. Any tips somewhere here for storing buds in humid climates?

I probably should take it back to the guy anyway just for the fact that he gave me buds that were full of mite webs. He doesn't seem to be answering his phone now though :(

wow this sucks an i am sorry to hear about this this is for sure mold i just had the same thing happen to me and i just maid some edibles after i left it all out in the sun to dry out. they came out pretty kill too so it is not all a waste!

Yeah but i've never done eatables. So the question is after letting it dry in the sun. The spores will die it's nature... Would you smoke this in a bong, pipe or joint? I'm telling ya I just don't got another $400 to go spend on another order and I don't want to stop smokin until I can afford it lol

yeah but it looks exactly like that but just tiny little ones everywhere. Meaning it's just starting to come out. If I dry it now the effect of the mold is less however still there. :(

Also there are some very tiny white patches like you show in the link.

you can put it in the oven to kill mold ... making hash will seperate it out..same with butter

hash actually sounds like a cool idea. I'll read more up on that and maybe go that route.

Blend with water & (ice cubes or crushed ice), let sit for 4 hours, syphon out water, place in smaller jar, let sit 2 hours, syphon water (hose then turkey thing), the part about the light and fans didn't quite make sense but i'll watch the vid again.

the light and fans is to dry it out quicker after you get most of the water out :wink:

im about to try this for the first time as well

Spidermites can be prevented most of the time with just a clean grow area and regulated temp and humidity ( 60-70 degrees relative humidity below 50% ) but if they become a problem you should get some Tanglefoot and put it around pof lips, stems and drying lines and be sure to remove damaged foilage.
