Howard Schultz for president?

The ones making too much money aren't teachers, they're administrators- who, oddly enough, are the very ones cutting teacher pay and reducing classroom budgets while giving themselves raises.

It's even worse at universities.
That's my point the unions are protecting them as well it's corupt from the top down

Ha

Broker a deal? He sold the Sonics off in a snit to punish Seattle for not kissing his entitled ass.

I live near Portland Oregon and totally get the contempt given Schultz for what he did to Seattle. I doubt anywhere else even cares but it shows Schultz to be the total jerk. His fake apologies to Seattle for selling off the Sonics to a group in Oklahoma City might have been acceptable 10 years ago. Given that it came just days after announcing his running for Prez it was not well received in the Pacific Northwest either. What an egotistical asshat.

I had a fantastic cappuccino from Bo's coffee earlier today. They made it perfectly and didn't go stingy with the cinnamon at all when I asked for a lot of it. Funner in the Philippines.

From all you say, you are waiting for Republicans to save unions, you mean. Don't hold your breath.
More strawman?

You know damn good and well that I'm a otherwise and I have no confidence in either establishment party to stand up for the average American worker. To continue to say otherwise is both a deliberate misrepresentation if everything I've been saying for years here and your admission that my arguments have merit- because if they didn't, you'd refute them with facts.

I spend none of my money there.

Their drivethroughs are jammed every morning with the petit bourgeoisie spending at the 'right' coffeeshop- never a local business!- on their way to another day servicing their capitalist masters, asleep to the nature of the megacorporation they support with their hard earned and increasingly scarce after tax dollars.

Actually, I have no idea what you stand for. I read an insane unjustified attack on Democrats, practically no criticism of Republicans, you defend Trump's selling out to Putin, you defend tyrants and dictators including Maduro who is in power due to an invalid election, and defend Russian interference on our elections.

You call yourself a Progressive yet what you say doesn't support progress. What do you mean when you say you are a "Progressive"?

Actually, I do have an inkling of what you stand for and it's something that has little to do with our system of checks, balances and compromise while we figure out how to make a more perfect union.

But DO THEY?

The results of this double speak over the last 40 years are clear.

'Nope!'
"Democrats said they want to invest in high wage jobs but DO THEY?"

Yet again, the fake conspiracy theory is invoked. Yes, that's exactly what they said and when they have the chance to act on that promise, I think they will do their utmost to deliver.

And you know what? If Carter had gotten a mandate for another four years those following forty years would have been different. No union busting, no tax cuts for the rich, no Pax Americana, rational energy policy. But no. The voters of this country rejected all of that. The voters of this country voted strongly for Reagan, the majority loved him and history followed a different path. You cannot hold Democrats responsible for what voters asked for when they voted for Republicans. Even now, a whole lot of people still want Trump and his regressive policies. Is that Democrats fault? I shouldn't ask.

Knowing who I'm talking to, I should amend that to say you cannot "rationally hold Democrats responsible".

You're right. You don't know what I stand for because you keep trying to tell me what I stand for instead of listening.

That doesn't make me anything; it makes you incompetent to debate.

Conspiracy theory?! I look at the record, and it shows that unions have been systematically crushed, while Democrats have taken billions from those with a vested interest in dismantling them.

Perhaps you have a better explanation? Mine is, 'follow the money'. Yours is, 'but don't look at the evidence!'

True, if you don't look at the facts you can make up your mind however you like. You are wrong but that never stopped you from forming an opinion. I've explained myself already but you haven't. Yes, unions have been busted. Do you recall who busted the air traffic controllers union that started all this? Would you care to take a look at who is in power in states that have a "right to work law"? Who appointed the justices that recently hamstrung California's teacher's union? From five miles out, you make up your mind. If one takes a closer look, you are simply wrong about the facts.
