How's My grow Set-up?

12/8 is wrong. for one thing.. theres 24 hours in a day.

usually growers keep the lights on for 24 hours a day to start growth. after a little while cut it down to 18/6.
some start with it at 18/6.
and some leave it on 24/0 the entire veg cycle.

12/8 is way way off. whoever told you that is probably slightly mentally challenged. don't listen to them from here on out. come to rollitup.org
and you need way more lights than you have there. that looks like an incandescent light too, you need to use cfl's of the max wattage you can find.

most importantly, you need to do research here because you could have learned all these things in about 5-10 minutes of using the search feature.

sorry defiantly a typo on my end 18/6 ... its a CFL that i'm using.

right now thats the light that i had at hand. I plan to get a bigger wattage one.

My set up is similar to urs not exactly haha but close.. what i did was took my timer box, that i use for my lights, anyways took my timer box and made a home made reflector... but a shit ton of foil n there tapped it down cut holes for the bulb to fit, and placed the reflector on top of the ballist like thing on the cfl and aimed it at my seedling.. then used a lil computer fan rigged up with a cell phone charger to push some air n the stems direction.

I cant even tell if u got a seedling yet or not.. If you dont then u dont need light till they actually sprout.

A seedling is a sprout that's called a seedling.. But if ther isn't a sprout that has came out of the ground u dont need your lights on at all till that happens. (it aint gonna hurt, or help either way with or without light)

That's correct. But if you germinate, they will sprout faster and you will know for sure if it produces a plant or not..

oh ok. well i didn't so i guess i will just have to wait and see...i guess i'll give them a couple weeks? i put in 3 seeds in case i had a male or two. i have 3 more seeds. I acquired my seeds from some bud me and friends had.

Takes 3-5 days to sprout from seed start 24 hours lights on for few days then 17 hrs daylight and 7 dark after a month 12 hours light 12 hours dark but add more light atleast 4 more 23w cfl's if you want some weed you won't be harvesting much using 1 cfl lulz

Ok 1st thing is all these guys are probably newbs also, LMAO !! ok im stoned forgive me !! Use the paper towel method for sprouting and place on your tv or something warm to stimulate sprouting. If you want good results without emptying your wallet then do like me with proven results. Pics to follow. Get your skinny ass to walmart and go to the lighting section. They sell a 4ft 2 bulb light fixture for 15 bucks. Get 1 6500k color spectrum bulb and a 7800k (they sell as "aqua plant" bulb) and put 1 of each in each fixture. Now get your ass on google and google "mylar emergency blanket" You can get these for around a buck each with shipping and they are reflective on both sides and even reusable. Use that to surround your plant. After a month let me know whas sup the we can flower that bitch.
