I think it means if any infected plant has been grown in your soil you should NOT use it again. If all your plants are clean it should be good to reuse.

Even after 90 days of composting, the viroid was not fully degraded, but it does seem to be a good practice to eventually clean your soil of it. You could always add it to an active compost pile in the backyard and simply use it a year or more later, or maybe just use it for non-cannabis purposes. I also found this article which says plant debris stays infectious for 3 months: https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/virus_visible_in_michigan_hopyards. I'd still give it longer than 3 months to compost though.

I’ve dealt with the shit once. Trust me you don’t want it. Soil is cheap in comparison to growing out sick plants.

I read that transmission to seed for HLVD is 8%. Now, if the seed tests negative for HLVD that means the HLVD strain can be preserved somewhat. I haven’t ran into anything like people describe but just for anyone trying to save a personal keeper for example.

Has anyone actually had a plant test positive for HPLVD? Which company did you use to test?
I sent in some plants last year that im almost positive had HPLVD and they all came back negative. I've still yet to meet a non commercial grower that has had a positive test.

What? Yeah many of us have had positive results? Who did you test with? I tested with dark heart, 12 tests total for plants I knew had to be HLVd positive and they came back negative, so I tested with Tumi and the all came back positive. Use Tumi..

I've had my whole garden wiped out due to that shit. I'm no commercial grower. I had mine test positive through tumi Genomics. Just follow instructions they provide with the sample kit.

Yeah, but you can put multiple samples in each vial they send you. So for example you could take 3x root samples 1/4” long on each plant for like 10 moms and submit it as a single test, if it comes back negative you just tested 10 moms for 25$, if it comes back positive you’ve gotta take more tests to try to narrow down which is infected.. when i first started testing multiple plant I did 3 or 4 plants per sample submission, now I just do all the moms in one sample once in a while for the peace of mind..

I've had my plants tested through PhenoXpress every time I bought a clone. A few tested positive for HLVD and I'm glad I got them tested before I put them in my grow. PhenoXpress was accurate, reliable, and fast every time!
