Hps and Heat help

I'm thinking of buying 400w mh/hps apollo or ipower. I would be growing in my closet rented house so I can't drill holes. My closest is 5' length 2 1/2' width 9' height.House has central air runs about 70 degrees flat. The closest itself has a small crack at the bottom and top. Would a 12" oscilating fan be enough to keep the closet cool. I could even possibly leave one of the doors open. Need help any advice is appreciated.

also the ballast has a fan built into it so its cool and I would leave it outside the closet

I used to have the 150 hps in my closet that heated it up enough I didn't like keeping the door closed . with a shelf up high I set the fan over the light since heat rises, then hung the light under the shelf . the 400 might work but you have to make sure heat doesn't build up enough to start a fire. If it doesn't burn the walls in the first couple days it should be fine get this man some tinfoil and duck tape!

My advice, don't grow in rented houses.

I just had a friend try it, and his water heater broke in the middle of a grow.

You're gonna need odor control, preferably carbon filter.

so was that a yes ill be able to keep it cool enough? with a fan blowing above the light

an active air fan? are you talking about the computer fans that slide into the cooltubes? or just any fan because the term active fan is a little confusing. All fans are active untill you unplug them

that green fan is a 6" active air fan...it is 400cfms

Thats a nice looking plant, but it looks like your exhausting out of the room. I can't do that, maybe I can if I rig something up. No holes can be drilled in the process. Would that fan on a cooltube cool the bulb even if I dont use ducting to lead it outside of my closet. Here are my two scenarios. Leave one of the sliding doors open at all times, but hang some plastic and exhaust through a duct in my room. Option two Buy a cool tube run a 6inch fan on the bulb and an oscialating fan with the door shut no exhaust. There are cracks at bottom and top of closet. One more option just thought of just use an oscilating fan and leave one door of the closet open at all times. Which would be the best?

In the videos you are going to see a 400w w/ a 400cfm fan...in a grow tent...in a closet...
the door...on the closet was closed & temps would rest in the 80's...
IF you use co2 ...it would be great...the co2 & the high temps in the closed closet would go hand in hand..

if you dont like the 80s...half zip the tent to cut down on the light leaks & leave the closet door open with your regular fan

The only way that you will close that closet door & remain in the 70's...is with a icebox & a water res.
the icebox will create an air conditioning coolness without the heat exchange or the higher light bill.
the 400w is so small... you can use a 55 gal res. & might not need the chiller...if you do..You can use the 1/10hp

Dont just take my word...go to your local grow shop...ask to see the icebox in ACTION...feel the cool air
THEN...buy one.

your gonna have to cut a intake hole slightly larger than your exhaust. whether you get a 4" cfm fan or a 6" doesnt matter. Im using a dehumidifer and a 4 " 265 cfm fan witha magnum carbon filter for my 8x6 room.(but I only have 1 400watt flowering light,i need to save up for another light)
