What about a Tasty fixture, bro? Maybe $50 of a markup compared to what you'd pay to make one with a single emitter and driver. It would be way easier on your wiring than HID.

Maybe. I just think you'd have better returns using less energy using a COB, despite the higher price tag, but if you want to make that work, let me know how it goes. I would NOT recommend the bottom option. If you really want help with fluorescents, talk to @RM3. That man's a damned genius.Ohhhh, I see. if it were me and i had high ceilings, i'd take 1150w of DE over COB anyday of the week. sure COBs are good and very efficient but IMO DE buds are gonna be bigger and more solid way farther down the plant than a cob. in a scrog, i'd take a cob. but for 3 to 4 ft'ers, DE for ME.
Yea but what are the gardeners supposed to do about the quality of buds we are used to with hps? Wonder if california will be like that even though prop 64 probably is not going to pass?
I'm an MMJ patient who grows his own medicine and this is why I supported question 2 (recreational use) in nevada. it will allow me to grow my own medicine without going on record. I can give up my MMJ card and regain my 5th and 2nd amendment rights as well as my right to privacy.I have never grown with HIDs. I use T5s so would not be affected if this law came to my state.MMJ patients are harassed in every state. total legalization with no permits or registration is the only answer.

people are getting high quality buds without HIDs. the HPS crowd would just have to learn new ways to grow. with the lights that are allowed
don't get my wrong. I don't support any government intrusion and if you love HPS or HIDs you should be allowed to use them provided you do it safely.
You will still have the same quality.
