HPS Bulb bites the dust?

Original post: My bulb won't fire, my ballast = makes the noise it usually makes, only louder, is this the ballast trying to fire the bulb? Can the ballast become damaged? hmm

Solution: I seriously touched the bulb with my hand while it was trying to fire, and the fucker sparked for me like I was God himself.. LET THERE BE LIGHT!........ I can't wait to part the red sea, workin on it

where did you buy your bulb? I have the same problems wth mine from time to time.. ill come in half way through my 12/12(day time) and the lights will be off making that noise.. then i unplug em for 10 minutes and it goes back on.. i wonder if it is the bulb or ballast, whatever it is it really pisses me off

im not a eectrician but it doesnt sound like its the bulb,when the bulbs out its out!so it sounds like its gotta be the ballast,where i got mine i got a warrenty on my ballast and bulb for a year,huh,i guess the high price did mean something i just forgot untill this very second!good luck,i hope u find the prob!...........ras

I got all my stuff at HTGSupply, so I have a warranty on the bulb and ballast. The night before this... I plugged the light back in, and then my timer literally shut the power off immediately after I plugged in the ballast.. half a second, n off. I was like "oh.. my god", I figured nothing good could come of that... so I chose to try and forget about it till it wouldn't fire this morning, and I was just so fucking confused, and then... I touched the glass on the bulb, and like one of those orbs that follow your palm with electricity n shit.. but, not the cool shit.. just.. IT TURNED ON OK!?

If the bulb is bad usually it goes black inside. Try plugging right into a scoket without the timer cuz if the timer isnt matched for the watch you might have messed the timer up. Otherwise it might be the igniter in the ballast going out

I Had A Problem With One Of Mine And Thay Changed It For Me I Didnt Think That The Hydro Shop Would , They Shocked Me When The New One Came And I Just Gave The Del.guy

it's been completely normal ever since.. but I have figured out a solution anyway. I'm running it 24hrs now so that I can have the mother budding, but at the same time have the clones vegetating from the same light source. When the mother is done w/her light cycle, she is pent up in a closet I wish I were joking. And Fletch, that really is your girl? (avatar)
