hps bulbs

Hey guys what are the signs that your HPS bulb is burning out?

I recent came into my grow room and my grow light was white instead of orange. Now this has happend before and i turned off my ac and it went back to orange after a while but i tried it again and it didnt work. ALso the bulb looks cloudy and is emitting more heat that usual. IS it time for a new bulb? If so how long do i have before it burns out?

I'd say that as soon as your bulb is acting out of whack (Not its typical light production) It might be time to buy a new bulb. If your using other lights alongside the HPS, you may just want to let it burn out by itself; although you might also have an issue with your ballast. :twisted:
