No I have not tested combined types yet. After the quantum board testing in the near future I would like to see what CMH/HPS does and might hang some vertical 315's to fill in between the HPS, I think there might be something to this. Thanks for sharing that. Have you tested combined types? i already wish I could power and cool another 315 to even the 2 600 Super HPS's out. They already seen happiest in the overlap to me.
It's too early for me to form much of an opinion though.
That looks great and you're not happy with those results? Here are my 2 Blockbusters with Hortilux 600 Super HPS bulbs in action a while back.
Flash on IPhone was used to preserve the natural color of the plants.

On a ballast note: Glad the galaxy's are working for you but for anyone that asks me I highly recommend against them based on my experience with them and power outage / surges - that is unless you liked the sound of exploding capacitors back in high school electronics class lolI notice slower plant response and my cheap sunleaves 3 way meter shows less light intensity at about 9 months in my air cooled hoods run on Galaxy ballasts.
I was happy. Until I started reading all the new testing. I saw the vid where the guys in the white tyvec suits compared a gavita, an LED and a cmh. That looks great and you're not happy with those results?
Awesome to know I was thinking of some vertically hung 315's in between the 1K's later on...............I was happy. Until I started reading all the new testing. I saw the vid where the guys in the white tyvec suits compared a gavita, an LED and a cmh.
The first vid was more subjective review and said the LED had the best smell.
But the gas chromatograph shows 4% higher thc content for the cmh plant. 22% instead of 18%
And a another commercial test showed the same with 10k finishing lamps and it was only neccesary for the last two weeks. When they to them the full cycle here was no improvement.
And DE HPS and cmh together is becoming a standard for yield and quality.
So the toys are upgrading. I wanted to add a third lamp anyway.
So far the results of adding the 315lec are positive.
I live in the land of power outages. 3 years continuous without a glitch. YMMVOn a ballast note: Glad the galaxy's are working for you but for anyone that asks me I highly recommend against them based on my experience with them and power outage / surges - that is unless you liked the sound of exploding capacitors back in high school electronics class lol
I guess I got the lucky one lolI live in the land of power outages. 3 years continuous without a glitch. YMMV
Hey one of the worse cars I ever had was one of consumer reports favorite most reliable cars. A 1989 Toyota Camry.I guess I got the lucky one lol
The spectrum is better and the footprint is larger.I have a question about DE lights, If they are supposed to be more efficient then why are they so much hotter? and if you have to hang them a lot higher than regular hps where is the advantage?
I almost did exactly that but I really want to see it in action stand alone. But I could widen my light stand and have a 9' x 3.5 flowering garden along the whole wall.Awesome to know I was thinking of some vertically hung 315's in between the 1K's later on...............
I have two vertical sockets here too lol. But I would need the conversion piece for the bulbs.........I'm gonna try the DE first before going this route. If the DE works for me up north then maybe I will make my own grow beast light with the 315's hung vertically in between the two HPS, I figure if there was nothing to this Hortilux wouldn't be spending all this time developing the ceramic HPS.............I almost did exactly that but I really want to see it in action stand alone. But I could widen my light stand and have a 9' x 3.5 flowering garden along the whole wall.
Damn you Evil-Mobo. I JUST SET EVERYTHING UP!
