HPS for VEG?

whats up everyone. Im not as experienced with indoor growing than with outdoor so I have a question for you guys. My buddy just gave me a 600w HPS setup and im using it to veg my
clones.
Has anyone used a HPS bulb to veg? How drastic will the differences be? All i am trying to do is veg some clones for a while before I put them outside.

You will be fine.. not much difference, really. Depends on the bulb, but your plants will grow up fine.

I like vegging with hortilux hps.... u get tighter internodes n the stalk n stem grows thicker to... but it will take clones awhile to get use to the light

Yea HPS works fine, MH is better but if ur trying to save some moneys HPS will be good for your setup.
FYI, all 600 watt MH blubs are conversion bulbs so they will work just fine on ur HPS ballast if you feel like switching to a MH bulb

The only thing you may see is some streching, your a little short on the blue spectrum for veg but like I always say use what you got. Will work fine.

you will get shorter stockier plants than under a MH, HPS works fine for me.
