hps kit has arrived

my 50w hps kit came in today and i ordered it tuesday. so fast. i have to run to home depot and buy a socket to wire to the ballast and ignitor. it came with all the mounting brackets and everything so im going to just buy a socket where i can fit it into a home made reflector out of pop cans or something, this is for a tight space and do you think with 50w of hps and the 104w of cfl on one plant will get too hot? ill have 3 7-12v fans blowing directly on the hps bulb, along with an intake and exhaust fan, once i get it all wired up today ill post some pics so you guys can help me out to set it up a little better. anyone have suggestions for me?

just keep your eye on it the firs couple of days, you should be fine though I do not know the dimensions of you cab.......:peace:........

its about 3ft high by 1.5 feet long and 1 foot wide its just holding one plant and it has plently of ventilation, even with the 104w of cfl it stays cooler in my grow box than in my room. about 75, my room is at a steady 78-80 usually, at night i turn the fans off to keep it about 70-75, also otherwise it will get down to about 65 in there, sometimes when i leave the fans on at night i find myself with purple stems on some branches

also keep in mind ill be adding 3 more fans to blow directly on the hps bulb, also i figured a 50w wont get too hot being thats its only 50w. and with 3 fans blowing on it im pretty sure ill maintain temps in the mid 70s

soooooooo,,, you dont have 37-12v fans.... just f-n around,,,,3ft tall you say,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,keep your eyes on it for the first few hours..........

sorry,, sometimes I have too much fun when Im high,,,,, but,, that all sounds cool for 1 plant,, just remember,, that plant is going to want to grow,,, you may want to think of lsting or keep cutting the tops to make it bushy,, dont know what you are thinking of doing,, but the plant will TRIPLE in height when flowering.......good luck on your grow.....:peace:........

And it still fits in a 3ft space,,, in the pot,,, bonzai????? Ive been tryin to keep all mine small but,,, nope, aint happening....:peace:.....

i supercropped the hell out of it yet one of my colas is touching the top of the box it totally grew past the lights, once i wire this hps up im going to cut a hole in the bottom and sit it on something to add another foot or two so the pot will sit in the hole and i can have much more room and the hps will be far enough away from the plant but im going to run the cfls around the sides.

this is my first grow and for the first couple weeks i got terrible stretching between nodes because of not having the lights close enough, then when i flowered that stretching just got worse.

i have no clue, my friend that grows gave me the seeds, he said he doesnt know the strain because he accidently mixed the seeds, although he purchased them. so i know its a good strain, it looks like 75% sativa and 25% indica the top leaves are really long and skinny and the main leaves that ive trimmed are fat and bulky. but it only buds on the branches and doesnt bud on the main stem, only single pistils came from the main stem showing its sex but it didnt bud from the main stem, just around the tops and other parts on the branches.
