I know I'm a new guy but I thought we should start a thread on the best place to purchase lights, ballasts and reflectors, and maybe have people with different ones review on the pros and cons of certain ones (lights purchased on eBay compared to lights purchased from well known internet and/or hydro shops)

If you have any information to add feel free as I'm sure it will be helping me, and many others on deciding what to spend their 100-500 dollars wisely on.

So far we have;

ecogrow.com with a good rating from WhiteRhino69 +rep
and plantlightinghydroponics.com with a bad rating (do not stand by their warranty) from Mountainfarmer +rep

Thanks! -edbLings :joint:

Thank you for replying so soon! I've been trying to find a good one to purchase and now at least I have a website to check out, haha. Thanks again and hopefully others will add to this thread.
Also, if everyone could provide the price of the lights right on the thread I think that'd be great!

yeah but if you just goto ebay there is a good possibility you are getting products that are made the cheapest way possible, which means after 1 season or 2 seasons you might have to buy a new ballast. as far as i know they are pretty damn expensive, but i could be wrong, thanks for the info guys +rep

Another thing i'd like to add is, after spending $1000.00 on 3 digital ballast, if i had to do it again I would definitly go with the tried and true magnetic ballast. They are half the price and way more reliable. Electronic ballast are advertised to be more efficient, but they are not. At least not enough to notice. The only plus i can see with them is that they run cooler than their magnetic predecessor. Like i said use the magnetic ballast.
