The main difference between running your ballast at 240v rather than 120v is you will have lower amperage draw running at 240v. You would not be able to plug directly into that timer tho. I always run my lights at 240v if at all possible.....thats is just my personal preference. There is less voltage drop in the ballast at 240v than with 120v

You will need a timer that works with 240v and at least the amp rating of the ballast. 240v is a different plug than you standard 120v.

is your house wired for 240V where you want to use the light? If not, you will have to have an electrician come in and add a 240V circuit to your box and run the appropriate wiring to where you want the socket.

Generally your dryer outlet, your stove outlet and your water heater are 240v. I ran all new dedicated circuits for my grow room so there wasn't much additional cost, plus I am running 8k. If you have to have an electrician come in and you are only running one light it probably isn't worth the hassle to go with 240v

you can go to home depot or lowes or ace and get a timer. Just get one that is rated at 15A and 1200+watts. I have a couple different ones, they are rated at 15A, 1800W. All came from either HD or lowes.

I purchased the same light for my grow and have been running it for 2 months. The only problem I had was that the bulb that came with it blew for no reason after about 3 weeks. The new bulb I put in it has been working fine, I think the one that came with it was damage in shipment or defective.

good shit man how many plants did you have under it? does it make ur grow hot?
