i have a 50 watt hps bulb laying around, would it be alright to put it into any 400watt ballast?

I bet it would get REALLY bright right before it exploded and set the house on fire.

I bet it wouldn't even glow, it'd just explode into a plasma fireball.

are u sure, i though the ballast would only use what the bulb requires.

Nope.. you need the same watts.. with the exception of 400w & 430w they can use the same....
