HPS lights - Advice.

After calculating light wattage I would use with some 20 clfs needed to achieve the correct lumes per square foot. I have found that I would use more watts per month than I would if I just buy an HPS setup.
My grow room, or is 6' wide 5' tall x 3' deep - I have a whole bedroom so I can expand the 3' depth if I need too to help reduce the temps along with an inline fan and other fans. ?

I will be growing between 6-10 plants at time. Getting 2 of these setups. One for flowering room One for veg room. Flowering room is smaller, so maybe a 250 watt for that one.

So is this overkill, too little?

400w isn't enough for that space. You'd need at least a 600w. And what's going on around here lately? Everyone keeps referring to HID lighting as HPS. HPS is a flowering lamp, MH is a veg lamp. HID is the type of lamps they are. You flower with as many watts as you can cool. It's stupid to veg under a larger light then flowering under a smaller watt.

Thanks for the info. They have a kit on ebay that comes with both a MH and an HPS bulb. The ballast is able to use both types of bulbs. I'm aware of the differences personally, but was just anxious to get my lights ordered as everything else is setup and ready to go.
