Hows it going everyone! I just recieved a brand new 250w HPS digital ballest/bulb. Everything was working fine yesterday when I installed it. Today, I pluged it in and it wont fire up. The ballest makes an single clicking noise and thats it. I've tried waiting an hour with it plugged in, an hour without it being plugged in, tighting the connections, switching the outlet, and nothing. The ballest doesnt seem to make any noise at all, other than an the initial click sound when powering it on.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Tomorrow I'm going to try a new bulb to see if that it, other than that I'm at a loss. I'm hoping the ballast isn't fault, I would be pretty damn pissed. The thing is brand new.

Take note, amazon sucks for anything thats more complicated than a poster or a pen. Send it back, theres a return lable that you have to print out and slap on the box, bring it to fedex and done. Then go to your hydro store and pick one up. My guys will lend me a light if the ones they sold me crap out at any time. Thats worth the extra 25 bucks to me, this fek up is probly worth 25 bucks huh lol. Also dont take that thing apart. Ballasts hold on to enough electricity to kill you. :):):)

Thanks guys, pretty sure it's the ballast. I sent it back today for a replacment.. if the next one is a POS as well I'll visit a local hydro store and spend some more $$

Local hydro store is usually the best option for multiple reasons. If the prices are high at your local grow shop due to lack of competition or something that does kinda suck, but you are still supporting your local economy. If you buy a ballast\bulb or anything that needs to last and be reliable, there should be a warranty on it. The good digital ballasts come with 5 year, even if you buy it online. But dealing with a local grow shop [should be], much better than dealing with an online retailer or the manufacturer directly.

Had a ballast die on me, don't know why, don't care; brought it right back to the grow shop as soon as I could and exchanged for a brand new one no problems.
