anyone have these things? i just bought em for my 400 watt hps and i dunno if they are effed up or if im retarded and not using them right, i tighten em up but my reflector is so light it keeps sliding up, and tighting just prevents it from falling down, i would think that they would work both ways??????? anyways i am going to have to set something on top of the light to keep it where i want it and i dont think that would be a good idea any tips or suggestions?

All yoyos can be a pain. When I get a set that is like yours I just clip a clothes pin on the string at the bottom of the yoyo to keep it from retracting. Also try loosening them then pulling the cord all of the way out, hold it, then tighten a bit. They all seem to have a mind of their own! Good Luck.

My hood does the same thing. These are made by hydrofarm, who has heavier hoods. The clothes pin idea sounds good. Or, if you have any 5 pound weights handy you can secure on the hood. I gave up until I upgrade to a heavier hood.

Yep, they work well. Plus when you want to raise it an inch w/o all of the 'yoyo' BS, hold the string, drop the clothes pin one inch, release. Repeat on otherside. Maybe they should just ship a pair of clothes pins with each set of hangers!!!!! LMAO

I have them and they worked great, after I figured out how to use them. If your using a light with a remote ballast, and a light weight reflector you will have to add weight to the reflector for it to work properly. I added two cans of veggies (see pics) and It worked perfect after that. Hope this helps, good luck! :bigjoint:

I also needed to add some chain so I could drop my light low enough to reach my plants. I got the chain a home depot. Two 3 foot lengths of chain is what I got, one for each hanger. I got It for less than $1 per foot.

Oh so thats how you use those..lol i broke mine and they SUCKED. They could work well but still of low quality. I went to my local hardware store and bought some chain and that works wonders and its easy to adjust!
