Huge Problem Large 600 Light MH or HPS compatable and small tent

okay guys here's the story I bought 2 tents. One was going to be for flowering, the other for veging. The veg tent isn't a problem at all it is a 5x5x7 and is hugh, the problem is the one I was going to use budding which is too small for the actual light. I don't see where I can fit it the light in with the ductwork must less the CFM fan. There is no room on either side of the fan for either ducting or the fan. So the way I see it I have 2 options. Since the light is a MH or an HPS compatible I could move it into the growing tent with my 8 bulb T5's as an extra light (Im' sure the plants would love that- and so would my energy bill since I am running 24/0 ops) may be I should go down to 18/4 just for that reason alone. Anywho, I would have to purchase either a 400 for the smaller tent or a 4 bulb t5 set (which I am kind of against because of the plants really needing more or just scraping the smaller tent and buy another larger budding tent. Either way I have to buy a new fan. But one way I would have to get a tent with no future or little future costs or an extra 400 light set with added monthly bills. I am torn, any advice??? Please any advice is greatly appreciated and we budsters have to stick togather huh? Thanks guys, I know you won't let me down.

how is the tent too small for the light? im confused, most tents are built to accomodate a standard size hood and blower system. youre not trying to fit a parabolic reflecter in there are you? lol. how big is the tent and what kind of hood are you using? take some pictures if you can.

I think you should use the large tent for flowering. Your plants will be largest then and need more light. Just switch them up.

Give me 5 minutes and I will post some pics, I am desperate for some help one this one and you guys are the experts.

Ok, here goes my shame and your enjoyment, LOL.

Wait, this was only the large tent, not the small one, let me get the pics of the small one up. This one is the 5x5x7 with nothing in it. Wait one sec please.

Here are the small tent pics with all of the size problems...
you can see on this one I have the 600 HPS in the tent and hardly enough room on either side to run the ducts for the exhaust fan or scrubber or anything, WTF, you thing they would tell you what they would recommend using with the tent when you buy then, thats' why I went for the big 5x5x7 so I could always have an endless supply always on tap.

what kind of ballast are you using? depending on the plug type from the socket to the ballast you should be able to just buy a smaller hood and still use the same ballast and bulb. or you can like stated above use the larger for you flowering area and the smaller for you veg area, which really makes the most sense. your plants will grow 2-3x bigger when they start to bloom. so you dont want to bloom in a smaller area that you are vegging in.

run your 600 the way it should be with venting and the hood you have, and put your t5's vertical standing up in the smaller tent. with few cfl's on top and you should be fine.

I wouldn't mind doing that except I would only have a limited amount of mothers available at any given one time.
do what i said above and build a shelf so that you can put the mother on top and the clones down below it with a couple cfl's on top as well. or the mother below and clones on top.

Now were getting into some serious Masters degree stuff, I like it, I like you and your ideas, feel free to hit me up with them anytime, I welcome it. I think I will start building that shelving unit tomorrow.

Let me ask you this would it be better to put my T5's as well as the MH 600's into the 5x5x7 as may be a flowering or using the 600 as a HPS (because it is one of those I can switch between-just change bulbs) and use the other tent of either or. I see only 2 problems, my electricity bill my become high and may raise eye brows and my electrycity bill may become high, LOL. Clearly there are several options just not sure what is the best option at this point. But either way I do appreaicate your help and it leave me with a lot of food for thoght, thats for sure but I am a man of action so I will be making decisions soon for sure.

ive done big grows and am currently doing a small grow. for what youre talking about i think you will be fine using just your t5's and some cfls for your vegging area and thats it. use your 600 hps for your flowering area, for that size area you shouldnt need any more light. if you ever need anymore light you can pretty much add cfl's to where you need them with a very small if any noticeable change in your bill.

check out the link in my sig. cfl's work very very well for veg and imo they work great for flower if used properly. plus they are more efficient up to a certain wattage vs. area ratio.

being a man of action is good, but when it comes to growing, THINK EVERYTHING OUT FIRST, before you buy. I rushed way into it and have wasted too much money due to changing my setup for the better. think of how many you want to grow, how tall you are going to grow them. keep in mind that a plant in veg, when put into flower can double or more in height. decide how you are going to grow them, lst? sog? lollipopped? many many questions to ask yourself and have answers for before you invest your money. make sure the area you have your tents in is capable of handling that much power. your entire grow operation should be on its own dedicated breaker, and NOT shared with any other part of the house/building. How much can you actually afford to pay extra in electricity each month? what hours are YOU available to tend to your plants, which will dictate what hours you can set your flower for..... hopefully you can have the hps light on at night and avoid the peak rates. add me as a friend if you like and id be happy to help you with as much as i can to the best of my knowledge. its good to get as many ideas as possibe.

but for now its time to sleep, pushing 20 hours awake now.
