Many of your friends and family are confused, thinking people are omnivores, needing both meat and plants in their diet. We only appear to be omnivorous because we have the ability to "doctor up" meat with salt and sauces (barbecue, sweet and sour, marinara, etc.) sufficiently enough to make it palatable. Prove this for yourself. The next person you meet head-on who claims meat is "tasty," stop him in his tracks and insist that he eat a large plate of plain, unseasoned, boiled beef or boiled chicken in front of you ; note their displeasure. Then offer that same meal to the dog or cat and note how eagerly this critter devours the meat. You would be hard-pressed to find a person who did not enjoy a bowl of perfect, ripe bananas, but try to get your cat to eat this sweet food. I have a Rottweiler dog named Bodega who is a true omnivore and enjoys bananas as much as meat. A careful observer notices that an animal's taste buds are no mistake of nature—they clearly define the proper diet that the animal should eat.

I just boiled some ribs yesterday, and before smothering them with bbq sauce and putting them in the oven I tried some. They were fucking delicious. Way better than any vegetable i've ever had. And on the same note I don't think i've ever eaten corn, lettuce, potatos, and a plethora of other vegetables totally raw with no salt, butter, etc.

Ask yourself: When you see dead animals on the side of the road, are you tempted to stop for a snack? Does the sight of a dead bird make you salivate? Do you daydream about killing cows with your bare hands and eating them raw? If you answered "no" to all of these questions, congratulations--you're a normal human herbivore--like it or not. Humans were simply not designed to eat meat. Humans lack both the physical characteristics of carnivores and the instinct that drives them to kill animals and devour their raw carcasses.

I also have no urge to eat a rotting fruit on the ground, so I don't quite understand his point.

anyone who thinks we never were meant to eat meat should tell that to their ancestors

we ate what got us to survive thats why in some parts of the world dairy is a big staple because thats all they had while other places never had milk or dairy and people from that area cant process it

meat and veggies go hand and hand

as well cooking came along because when you cook meat you get more viable protein and nutrients people can eat raw meat raw meat isnt the same thing as the corner stores steak and chewing on it i mean if you killed a deer and ate the meat you would have a upset stomach from the fact it has a tough time digesting it but this is why we started to cook the meat

We are and have been way passed raw meat. When our ancestors began to cook meat, I'm sure they tried boiling it and I'm sure they found it to be delicious. Thats why "cooking" has stuck around.

This article also doesn't take less modernized and less advanced groups of people into consideration. For example, if you have ever watched Andrew Zimmern he goes around and eats "strange" foods. He is pretty much proof that you cannot label the food you're used to as the ONLY food and style of cooking that there is. The article fails to recognized that food is diferent everywhere in the world and boiling meat is NOT strange.


Humans naturally hunt for their food but they are not exclusively hunters. Humans can be scavangers but they are not exsclusively herbivores. Humans can adapt to climates, weather, and locations. So what one group of humans do and eat in the US is NOT the same as what humans do and eat in the plains of africa. A small tribal group in Africa will actually bleed a calf by puncturing it's jugular and collecting its blood for consumption. What about Maryland blue crabs? People in Maryland love crabs but in other places they are repulsed by the act of ripping a crab open.

Saying that an animal's taste buds are what guide its eating habits is ridiculous. My dog eats shit. I know that shit doesn't taste good. Vultures eat dead rotting flesh, I'm sure that doesn't taste good either. Rotting flesh isn't completely void of nutrients and they are able to safely consume and digest it. It's evolution, genetics, and instinct that guide our eating habits. It's instinctual for a vulture to eat a dead deer on the side of the road as it is instinctual for a human to eat fresh cooked deer meat.

No idea. I think it's pretty obvious that humans safely consume animal products. People can survive with out it, but saying we weren't "meant" to eat it is completely wrong. We're not "meant" to do anything and more than 75% of the shit we do every day isn't natural. So it's like this guy is comparing the unnatural act of driving a car to me eating a seasoned steak.

My body eats what it likes to eat :) any scientists that think they can prove otherwise can absolutely go and get fucked because well, 23 years seems quite substantial proof that i can eat meat :)

The irony is i'm the chef in a vegi food shop. Fuck that, bacon!
 
You should have seen the last debate on this topic on Werelist.net. God knows why a tiger therianthrope would opt for vegetarianism and alot of us DO look that way at roadkill...
 


the tri tip is not popular down here in so tex. had it last year when i visited vacaville my sisters husband grilld some up , i have to find a butcher here to order it from
