Has anyone used this soil before? My local hydro shop just got a bunch in and the lady said its very similar to the ffof and they are bringing it in cause Fox Farm is gonna start demanding higher prices for the ocean forest basically because they can so they want to give customers a better priced alternative.

I personally don't use it but I have a friend that loves it. After using it for a couple grows he switched from root organics and hasn't switched back. From what I hear the nutrients in the soil carry the plant about a week longer without extra nutrients needed than root organics did for him. I personally still think mixing your own is the best way to go but it can be costly to start and time consuming.

Humboldt Earth is a ready-to-use soil created for fast-growing, moderate to heavy-feeding plants. This natural and organically-amended mix is ideal for any application, and it's perfect to add to existing beds or ground planted shrubs, trees, fruits, and vegetables.
