And I can only speak for myself on this, but, everything I’ve grown by HSC is potents as hell. If it wasn’t, I would’ve moved on. In fact, Lemongrass I smoked every day for 6 months and never grew a tolerance to it.

I’m sure other breeders that aren’t doing as well come on here to talk shit lol.
I'm legit glad to hear anyone say that. For me personally, and I can also say at least one friend and my Dad will agree, HSC herb for us (so far) has been VERY aromatic and flavorful, also GREAT bag appeal, but potency leaves a little to be desired. . .again, so far. Mtn Top Mint and Collie were good highs but not great, and for my money Jelly Rancher was a great "share with friends" strain but lacked potency. I would still very highly recommend HSC gear for sure.

Nobody said the purple pheno was rare… I did say the pheno I have is rare (the black and basketball orange), which it is judging by every picture I’ve seen of every All Gas OG pheno, including a confirmation by the breeder. You should also know that 99% of strains out there claiming to be OG kush are not, and as far as I know HSC never claimed this was an OG Kush strain. OG and Kush are more of a naming convention rather than a strain anymore. Similar to how “Skunk” is used for marketing. The nationwide wholesale market is garbage. That’s why I grow my own.
OG and Kush the same ? Lol your not in touch with the current market obviously… Weed that doesn’t get u high is garbage and HSC is the leader of that group

Whatever you say pal. As far as “doesn’t get you high” the stuff I have grown from HSC is all around 25%. Potency is there, just may not be 25+ for every pheno of every strain. That can be true for ANYTHING you grow from seed though. But if you don’t like the high profile that’s just preference and doesn’t indicate quality. Also cut too early it will lack potency.

I've gotta agree tbh.

I grew blueberry muffin, which did get me high, but it's the worst high ever, literally makes me feel like shit, and it's not just the pheno, I've smoked 3 different phenos, the other 2 were purchased 1 black market and 1 dispensary....all of them had 1 thing in common, the shitty high.

Then I purchased some Hella Jelly flower which looked awesome but had absolutely no potency.

Idc what the lab results say, if it doesn't get me high or has a shitty high, I'm gonna call it like it is....and despite awesome colors, flavors and structure on blueberry muffin, overall it smokes like fucking trash. Hella jelly was a huge let down as I've heard a bunch of ppl rave about it.....highly forgettable for me.

That’s wack! But at least you gave it a try. I’m currently growing Hella Jelly and Garlic Budder. Seedling stage.
My HSC OG Kush is drying. I tested some the other day I liked it, but still needs a good cure. The high was fun but i did smoke it after micro dosing. I had a good time

I'm selecting my genetics for an outdoor commercial grow. Which of the HSC strains would you guys recommend based on bag appeal, terps, yields, bud density, and the smoke report?

Couple folks i know did very good with Hella Jelly outdoor here in maine last yr Iam going to run it myself this yr after seeing the results.

Thanks! Helly Jelly was one of my top choices, I'm also thinking about the new one Jelly Donutz (helly jelly x white runtz). We ran white runtz last year and it tested out at 31%.

We ran blueberry muffins last year. I'm thinking about replacing it with Blueberry Cupcakes, review says it's not as loud on the terps but makes up for it in bud structure and potency.

My third option was Puddy Mouth, but I can't find many reviews on it.

Do you have any other cultivators you would recommend for outdoor grows in the North East? We ran Oreoz last year and it came out looking great.

Had great results with Ethos cherry garcia last yr

Thanks for the reply.

That was on my maybe list too. I'm trying to decide between cherry Garcia, poddy mouth, grease monkey, and Gush Mints by purple genetics.

Poddy mouth has only been around for a year so it may not have tons of reviews yet. When I've grown blueberry muffin the potency has been just okay but it's extremely terpy and so is anything crossed with it. Jelly rancher was a practical workhorse yielder for us as home hobbyist growers, but we didn't fall in love with it. Flowered quickly and it had a nice dense internodal distance but we preferred the smoke of the Apple blossom and garlic budder we grew that year.

Blueberry cupcake isn't a bad choice, it's basically just bringing up the potency with wedding cake with the blueberry terps still dominant. If you're looking at blueberry muffin outcrosses to get the strong terps but with more potency I will continue to bang the drum for apple blossom (Blueberry muffin x dream queen) which was a big unfinnicky yielder that we loved the flower from. Hi-biscus (Blueberry muffin x zkittles) was also a really nice terp bomb. The nice thing about the blueberry muffin outcrosses is that they flower quickly.

And consistent with my past stance I continue to recommend Garlic budder! It's a GMO cross and it has exactly what you expect from a GMO cross, big chunky buds with good potency, chem-y garlicky spicy smell, and a long flowering time. It might not be practical for the northeast because it could run over 70 days flowering.

I washed some Jelly rancher for ice water hash and it was great though. I posted it further back in the thread.

i then pressed some of the hash and some garlic budder dry cured flower for rosin. Both were great, but the garlic budder rosin was stony stuff, absolutely sedative potent traditional indica stuff. It wasn't a perfect run but it was my first time pressing and I've gotten better since then!

Trimmed up some of that OG Kush after a 10 day dry. I made lots of mistakes that grow and could’ve yielded more but life just got in the way. The OG Kush smelled like light ammonia with hints of rubber and a bag of peanuts from the ball game. I have it curing rn, the smell is coming out more piney now. Smoke is meh. Nice frost

Popped 3 Garlic Budders, 3 Hella Jelly’s, and 3 Purple Panty Droppers. See how that goes!

Aside from the bad pheno of OG Kush, which I pulled, I think this scrog grow turned out pretty good. The buds didn't swell as much as I think they should have because I got a new, more powerful, light that I didn't drop down as low as I usually do because I didn't want to burn them up. It's almost harvest time. I'm just letting them ripen a bit more.

Thanks for your reply.

I agree, my biggest concern is that my selections are newer and don't have a lot of history. It seems HSC is really pushing Jelly donutz. Do they usually just hype up the best of the best in new strains? I did find this video of the Jelly Donutz....

I looked into apple blossom. It checked a lot of boxes, I couldn't find much on the smoke report. There's a report on Reddit that wasn't positive. I like the 45 day flower. Did you get positive feedback on the smoke?

The 70 day flower is probably going to go to long for us in the northeast on the garlic budder, Im probably not going to run Gush Mints for the same reason.

I'm also running mostly HSC seeds, I was hoping to have a broad selection of breeders, but so many of the Humboldt seed selections look much better than anything else out there for outdoor grows.

We're hobbyists and not commercial, but yes, we did! It was a workhorse anytime smoke for us with a balanced high, good body feels but not full on sedative like the garlic budder for example. We're going to run it again this year, starting seeds at the beginning of April. Smell was sweet and floral more than fruity, like a flowery nectary perfumey honey smell.

Also I know, that bud's wet trimmed, we dry trim these days. Most growers are going to hype their new stuff to sell it, it's the kind of thing I'd be more comfortable with if I had grown one or both of the parent strains. The blueberry muffin outcrosses all have pretty fast flowering times, I've only grown Hi-biscus, blueberry cupcake, and apple blossom but I did like them all and thought they did a good job of maintaining the strong terps of the BBM while bringing up the potency.
