Humboldt Seed Company (HSC) Thread

I agree, my biggest concern is that my selections are newer and don't have a lot of history. It seems HSC is really pushing Jelly donutz. Do they usually just hype up the best of the best in new strains? I did find this video of the Jelly Donutz....
Also if you want to see some of the newer stuff in action and you're on Instagram @aliencat420 is a really skilled grower who runs a lot of their stuff. They have a couple stories with light dep runs of the jelly donutz and poddy mouth

All gas. And oldgrowth. Dosi cookie testers. All were good. Just not potent like everyone’s claiming. But they’re pretty and smell great. Some of my more Stoney stuff comes from twenty out off everyone

We're hobbyists and not commercial, but yes, we did! It was a workhorse anytime smoke for us with a balanced high, good body feels but not full on sedative like the garlic budder for example. We're going to run it again this year, starting seeds at the beginning of April. Smell was sweet and floral more than fruity, like a flowery nectary perfumey honey smell.

Also I know, that bud's wet trimmed, we dry trim these days. Most growers are going to hype their new stuff to sell it, it's the kind of thing I'd be more comfortable with if I had grown one or both of the parent strains. The blueberry muffin outcrosses all have pretty fast flowering times, I've only grown Hi-biscus, blueberry cupcake, and apple blossom but I did like them all and thought they did a good job of maintaining the strong terps of the BBM while bringing up the potency.
Those buds look great. How much weight did you get on the apple blossom?

It was a late start for the apple blossom so we didn't maximize yield on it. We got the seeds later in the season and it went into the ground in July, it's the smallest one in front (the other two are a hella jelly from seed and two clones of it).

By September it was a beast that had totally outgrown the jellies. I don't remember the exact weight but it filled one of the big stainless steel Cvault containers we use for bud and those usually hold ~450-500g or so.

More people here than not seem to be claiming less potency, are you referring to somewhere else people claiming higher potency?

That's impressive for the late start. I think I'm going to go to apple blossom.

Yeah, it's probably been our favorite (or second after the garlic budder) from HSC so I can get behind that.

Side note the Garlic budder also yields a lot. The only drawback is the long flowering time but it throws out some absolute baseball bats with that classic garlic smell.

what north latitude are you? When was your Garlic budder harvested?
We're around the 34th parallel north, we harvested the garlic budder towards the end of september, but we tend to see the first signs of flowering (stretching and the first few bracts &pistils) part way through July.

There may be phenotypes that finish before 10 weeks, because when I pressed the flower for rosin, the rosin was a dark amber, and the rosin tends to be the same color as the resin. Most GMO crosses tend to be around 10 weeks though, a friend recommended Mosca's Super Petrol as a faster finishing but still dank GMO cross for that reason.

I actually ran out of garlic budder seeds (I got 3 as a freebie and was thoroughly impressed), but I'm running Skunk House's triple burger ((((Larry OG x GMO)x GMO) x GMO) x GMO) this summer to fill that niche. I would totally grow Garlic Budder again though.

Just took this Blueberry Cupcake lady and trimmed a bunch off and bent all the branches down and moved her into a 3x3 and wrapped her all up in a net. Gonna be my first scrog. I took 18 cuttings to put in baggies and store in the fridge. I also have 6 clones from her in coco that have stretched like mad. Probably gonna need to top them before too long to get them under control.

That's rough, I liked apple blossom and haven't dealt with it going intersex but I've only ever grown it outdoors. Sounds like something to look out for
