Humidifier water, tested it.

For shits n giggles I tested the ph of the water I was about to dump down the drain collected from my basement humidifier, thinking that it might ideal for watering. Extremely acidic, off the charts. Not what I expected, I wonder if that's just because of the unit's prolonged use over the years in a basement or if that's natural. Any thoughts?

All the old dehumidifiers I've sent had all kinds of yuck on the coils. Mineral buildup, slime .I wouldn't use it, even from a new one. Besides, collecting 1 or 2 gallons a day doesn't seem practical. You should attach a hose to it so you don't have to empty it all the time.

im not sure about ph but water from my de humidifer is 0ppm...ive tested it before... not sure about ph tho

I wouldn't use it either. Some nasty shit that flows in the air ends up on those sweaty coils.

Fun you tested it for shits and giggles though.

Ya, in theory, it was a sound idea, thinking that I was avoiding chlorine and fluoride.

But you would be gaining copper or aluminum from the coils and mold, mildew, and bacteria that would collect in the tank
