humidor's for cannabis

im thinking of making a humidor for storing my cannabis, ive heard of alot of people have good results. it's also got alot in common with setting up a grow room in the sence of controlling temp/himidity.found this thought it could be usefull for growers wanting to lower humidity

on a different site a thread about humidors brought up alot of people saying do it and alot saying dont... i want to make one to store afew oz's(2-3) that will be smoked within a week of going in there. ill pre-roll it 1/2oz at a time into blunts and store them on shelves like a cigar would in a humidor.im thinking it be good to just hang 4+ large buds from the ceiling and pick the nugs from the top-down(picking from the lowest part of the bud working to the cola,how i always deconstruct bud)any input on humidor experience from anyone??PEACE good growin to all. everywhere says to use spanish cedar,im asking my local cigarshop if cherry or maple will work becouse i have unlimited access to them both through a friend who owns land and will give me a cherry tree for free(3ft round at base,30-40ft long)alot more wood than ill need for this.
also it would be kiln dried.
