And I'm hanging onto my .45-70 semi-custom Contender. Never know when you'll startle a Cape buffalo in the hall after a night of dedicated drinking. A colleague named that gun the Noisy Cricket after it made everyone at the range put theirs down and go "what was thaaaaat"

My cheap ass savage in .308 with a pretty good Leopold scope can hit paper all day @300yds. Big enough for most anything here in norcal

I used to have a Ruger #1 in 45-70, sold it when I needed the dinero. Hated to let it go. It kicked like a mule; I hate to think what the same caliber Contender feels like
