Earthquakes are looking a whole lot better these days. You could not pay me enough to live in the gulf or east coast! Hope everyone stays safe!

i've lived in florida most of my life, i'm the type of person that would stay, not evacuate. at least we know these storms are coming, hell earthquakes whenever, can't hide from a quake!!

stay above the 100 year flood plains and you're fine.

and the hurricanes keeps the riff-raff at bay. ;)

Yes we are in prime Hurricane time!!! Aug. 15 to Sept. 30 is usually the 6 week nightmare period....the rest of Hurricane season is generally pretty mild.

Of the 3 out there the one I'm worried about right now is IKE.... looks like it's coming into the Gulf.... and then it's anyone's guess which way it will go.

EXACTLY!!! After a hurricane hits and wipes out the mobile homes in an area insurance is not enough to replace them and getting new insurance for a mobile home in the costal area is unheard of.

LOL... slowly but surely we are getting rid of the mobile home parks!!!

That may sound mean... but the mobile homes here are not "nice"... they are the broken down shitty parks that bring down the property values in the area. Luckily in my area we are down to only 1 or 2 left in the area..... One good storm and we should be rid of them too.

I can't imagin living on the coast , I live in a part of Canada were we are sheltered by alot of mountains from thoes

wish the people that have to deal with them the best of luck

gotta love hurricanes in the west, they generate a load of clean groundswell for us europeans..

so while you are all quivering in your hurricane shelters or whatever, think of me dropping in on some clean as hell 20 foot kegger :)
