Husalife's 2011 Outdoor Grow.

Thanks Tristyn thats about it pretty much.

In past years I have had limbs in different locations finish faster than the plant its growing on

because of Alf Alfa Hoppers putting a ring around the limb which stresses the limb and it builds

a knuckle around the wound. So I wanted to simulate this but it was dumb of me to try of this plant,

Just a plain old newb ass mistake that I should have noticed before I did anything. I had the plant LST'd

and all the bud is growing out on the end so it just had too much weight to support the cut even though it wasn't a deep

cut. Oh well I now have a little over a half oz curing in a jar and I am waiting on the rest to mature to its fullest before cutting.

So I have decided to follow a guide to curing my nuggets this year that seems to be fail safe and gives you

something to watch during the cure. Check it out below. So far so good with it.

A perfect cure every time

This method is particularly effective for folks who are starting out, those looking to maximize quality in a shorter period of time, and folks who's like to produce a connoisseur-quality product each and every time with no guesswork involved.

It's a very simple and effective process:

Cut the product, trim it per your preference, but don't dry it until the stems snap. Take it down while the stems still have some flex, but the product feel dry on the outside. This is a perfect opportunity to drop the dry-feeling flowers onto a screen and collect prime-quality kief that would otherwise get lost in the jar.

Jar the product, along with a Caliber III hygrometer. One can be had on Ebay for ~$20. Having tested a number of hygrometers - digital and analog - this model in particular produced consistent, accurate results. Then, watch the readings: " I didnt use these meters Wal-Mart sales cheap Humidity meters that are small" Husalife..

+70% RH - too wet, needs to sit outside the jar to dry for 12-24 hours, depending.

65-70% RH - the product is almost in the cure zone, if you will. It can be slowly brought to optimum RH by opening the lid for 2-4 hours.

60-65% RH - the stems snap, the product feels a bit sticky, and it is curing.

55-60% RH - at this point it can be stored for an extended period (3 months or more) without worrying about mold. The product will continue to cure.

Below 55% RH - the RH is too low for the curing process to take place. The product starts to feel brittle. Once you've hit this point, nothing will make it better. Adding moisture won't restart the curing process; it will just make the product wet. If you measure a RH below 55% don't panic. Read below:

Obviously, the product need time to sweat in the jar. As such, accurate readings won't be seen for ~24 hours, assuming the flowers are in the optimal cure zone. If you're curing the product for long-term storage, give the flowers 4-5 days for an accurate reading. If the product is sill very wet, a +70% RH reading will show within hours. If you see the RH rising ~1% per hour, keep a close eye on the product, as it's likely too moist.

Nice! I would imagine it would keep for quite some time, although butter tends to absorb odors/favors from other foods in the fridge. Whenever I see butter on special (can't believe the cost of food anymore!) I usually buy a few lbs and throw it in the freezer. It's stayed good for several months and doesn't pick up nasty flavors like it does just sitting in the fridge.

Cool Cool Sonar, I thought about putting half of it in the freezer. Its in a nice little air tight tub shouldnt grab any flavors.

LOL the weed smell and flavor couldnt be overtaken I dont think.

This morning I got up and cooked a dozen sausage links and a dozen mixed berry muffins and a pot of coffee,

I cut an X in the top of each muffin I was gonna eat and added a nice little chunk to each. Mmmm delicious and kept me good most of the morning.

Finally getting some much needed rain around here on another note, all my girls are moved inside the barn so they are dry so let it rain all

it wants here on my block, I wish those of you luck who cant cover your girls. I hate to watch a plant Mold NOTHING WORSE I say.

Cool was mainly wondering because ID love to make a stick with each of my strains to see if certain ones are better

for butter than others and so on. Thanks for your reply.

Man oh man this Kaya Gold is just a wonderful smoke. I cant give it enough Love.

I just smoked to bags outta my vaporizer and am now completely blitzed. I just wished there was a way to share with ya'll.

Man what a good all around smoke, taste is slightly fruity with a very dank almost wet dirt after taste

and a high that has my head at an almost spin it seems with a warm very relaxed body sensation that is just refreshing.

Well Ya'll have a Good Night and Be Easy, I will try to get an update on pics 2morrow.

So I just spent an hour or so out side with the girls picking and plucking yellows to help hide 'em

a little better and such things. I checked Trichs on all of 'em as well and should be looking at 1.5 weeks too 2 weeks

until the earlier girls are done. No kinda rush here at all, Ive been housing them during rain and everything is

doing great EXCEPT the WHITE RUSSIAN!!! Awful outdoor strain IMO, The morning dew has been rotting her since

the first week of flower and mold moved into the top cola just from humidity because she was out of the rain completely.

I have chopped both top colas from my White Russian "100% cloudy / 5% amber" and have them hanging to dry in a spare bedroom.

I also decided to take 5 or 6 bottom limbs from my Bubblicious "100% cloudy / 10%-12%ish amber" . I will leave the top portion of her

until shes 35% - 40% amber. I Love this strain, it has grown the most beautiful plant that's nice and symmetrical with

frosty dense nugs growing in even display. It smells very sweet with a slighty bitter after tone. Mmmmm I cant wait.

Well I only have half my White Russian , Half my White Widow and my bubblicious 2 left growing

other than my 12/12 from seed group. Everything is looking and smelling wonderful so far.

I have to give Nirvana Bubblicious top props, this is some dank ass smoke. 2 hitter quitter for damn sure.

I Love this smoke. It looks almost exactly like my White Widow as far as hairs and bud structure and color.

I havent got to smoke any of the Widow yet, still not dry enough to sample but looks and smells wonderful!

Smiles is a VERY fruity smoke that gives you an almost instant head change. Very enjoyable smoke and taste.

Master Kush Smells like Gun Powder this year and is a very stoney high, Makes me cough and cough and leaves me stupified to a point,

just didnt get as dense as it did last year.

White Russian is a fuely smelling flower and is airy as hell but is a good all around smoke thats smooth on taste but like a

mad man in your chest wanting out.

Great year so far, didnt have to mess with ANY Bud worms for once and so far havent had any problems with rippers.

I will post up some pics soon of all the pretty flowers.
