Hydro help! MALFUNCTION

Hi all,
these plants were in a diy system and long story short it didn't work....
It would be a shame to throw them away.
I put the pots with roots hanging out the bottom in a water tight container added some water and hydroton so they don't dry out. They seem to be okay for now...
What should I do?
I have lots of spare parts and could knock something up if need be....
Just need an easy basic thing I can make to finish them off, even just one.... Thanks.

Just buy cheap grow bags. In fact if you have a reusable shopping bag it should work.
When you say put it in a bag, do you mean lift the pot into the bag and add hydroton? Or do I have to buy some coco...
I can't see myself getting the plant out of the pot without destroying the roots.

Also should I sit the bags in something to catch the runoff? Thanks.

I like this idea tbh, only thing Is the light getting to the roots....
Put a tank the same size as the one you have your pots in (your see through plastic container)directly underneath that one. Those types usually sit ontop of one another if opposite ways. Fill your bottom tank with water, drop a pump in conected to abit of hose that reaches into your top holding tank. Make a hole or two about the diameter of the hose in the bottom of your top holding tank right around the middle. Plug your pump on a timer, set it to about a minute 4-6 times a day bobs your uncle , no leaks no issue simple. JustI be their to check the minute pump cyle switching on dont overflow the top tank before going off. If you want you can wrap something or paint the outside of the bottom tank to block out light.

This is what is known as a flood and drain system. That is what I was going to suggest. All you need is a cement mixing tub and a tote and a small pump and hose.

Hi guys sorry been busy all day, the tub on top of another with a pump in I was doing that but my pump heated up my water and that was causing the issue..
That was literally the system I was using!
Id have to keep the pump on 24/7 for it to work.

They've been like this for 3 days now....
Just an updated pic I've been watering daily by hand then using a hand siphon to suck the water out the bottom back into a bucket I've got sat outside the tent (so I can re use the water like it does in a recirc system, I don't want to waste nutrients....).
There's a very small amount of water sat at the bottom for them to drink.
I am currently running a DFT system in my other space and I'm using my left over nutrient water for this too.
Do you think I cam get away with doing this for the time being? The roots should grow in the medium at the bottom I would have thought as long as they don't drown...

PS - one of them is an auto white widow the other is a yumbolt.

This is my dft system I'm using atm, I'm going to make a few modifications next time such as a lid for net pots to sit directly in so the roots can hang free lol.
The res is directly underneath.
I was thinking about maybe trying to replicate it but I'm not sure if I have the parts or if it's even worth while....
Im thinking about taking some clones from my dft system and starting again in the tent maybe?
Thankyou for all of your advice I will have to have a think about what to do, may have to go to band q!
