I'd say its like anything you buy online google your options, read reviews, and hope nothing comes damaged in the mail.

ive had a milwalkee 802 for years and love it. rarely needs calibration and very quick read.

ive had mine over 3years and its just as good as day one, one must calibrate them tho.....
