Hydro questions, hook stickyscissors up with some knowledge.

Ok, so I have always been an avid soil guy. Recently have have been wanting to expand my horizon and dabble in some hydro. A few questions come to mind. I clone with rapid rooters so can I place a rooted clone in a rapid rooter inside of a pot of soil less mix, or do I have to have it in a bigger rock wool cube? Also I just want to mix my nutes up in a big rez and water with a electric pump and wand like I do my soil, so I guess water to waste. Would sunshine #4 work well or any other suggestions? I did hydro once in hydroton rock flood and drain and I flooded the table 4 times a day for 15 minutes. How often would you have to water a soil less mix?

So the soil less mix holds water? so once it is dry then you water again? also can I veg in a 2 gallon pot with soil less mix and then trans plant into a bigger pot?

I would use coco. Superior to any sunshine mix.
