As a novice grower I would have to say my soil plants are easier to maintain than my hydros plants. Less monitoring, checking levels, filling, cleaning etc. Mind you the hydro ones grow faster. I guess I am a fence sitter, can't decide right now.come on, at least be honest.
to some extent...bur it's not only about drying and curing.....I've smoked shitty soil grown too, and I've smoked decent hydro also...but of the 2 when they are both done properly and dried and cured the right way...organic soil grown will taste better....its a real shame that pot is such a nono or we could meet up and have a lil tasting party. i would bet u anything you couldnt tell what ive grown in dirt and whats hydro. its all about the curing. and thats with soil or dro. ive had some nasty soil grown pot that wasnt cured or flushed well, and some super smooth sweet hydro that was flushed and cured well.
IMHO the taste is not about soil or water its about doing things the right way or not.
a rollitup cup would kick soooo much ass wouldnt it. we could share beans 1 year and taste the exact same strain grown different ways the next.to some extent...bur it's not only about drying and curing.....I've smoked shitty soil grown too, and I've smoked decent hydro also...but of the 2 when they are both done properly and dried and cured the right way...organic soil grown will taste better....
you didnt say anything about organic. i agree that organic does taste better that synthetic nutes. and thats why im working on a way of useing organic nutes in hydro.
and I guarantee I could tell the difference..maybe you can't...and that sucks you have a pallet that can't depict those different flavors.
i can tell the difference in organic and synthetic nutes. it would rock if i couldnt tho. id loved to not be able to tell the difference. i could be happy smokeing some mexican brick weed.
..my pallet can and let me tell you, if you don't taste the difference in organic soil grown..you are missing out...big time....
I love the smell of guano.....
ummm,,, to each his own on that 1 lol
BTW I wish we could meet up for a taste test too...a rollitup smoke out would be cool...
that would rock......sorry about not mentioning the organic thingy.......also I don't really love the smell of guano..lol...but the smell and taste of cannabis and mangos grown with guano....a rollitup cup would kick soooo much ass wouldnt it. we could share beans 1 year and taste the exact same strain grown different ways the next.
should be the best of both worlds lolwhat I really want to see, is the results of a hydro-organic grow and smoke some of the cannabis..not something I've seen to much of..and never smoked any hydro-organic....
Personally I think this thread is bullshit.
Every once in a while this topic comes back up again and we all have an argument and no one gives in.
In the end it finishes up the same way with us all agreeing that it comes down to personal preference.
Hydro vs soil / Montague vs Capulet. The war is never over because the two sides believe they are right and will fight till the end.
What matters in the end is the plants and if the grower is happy. We all grow for our own reasons and if we meet those reasons then its job done.
Peace~
should be the best of both worlds lol
dont get me wrong im not anti-soil. i just dont "dig" it much. seems like every time ive used it ive had probs with it. ive had just plain old bad soil, bugs, grass (not the good kind), and dirt that smelled like a dog crapped in it. all store bought and not the cheap stuff either.
"what kind of a grower are you?"
im a control freak. i like to have complete control over every aspect of my plants growth. if my plants do anything i want it to be because i made it happen or stopped something from happening. if i change something i want to see the results in hours or days not weeks or months.
"hydro takes to long"
im always hearing hydro is to much work or takes to much time to check everything. i think ppl who say that are ppl that havent really sat down and thought about exactly how much time they spend in a week taking care of a soil plant. or ppl that make hydro to complicated. i use simple bubblers and spend maybe 30 mins a week checking levels and cleaning. when you think about how much faster hydro grows and how many weeks you save off each grow by doing hydro your really saving time.
"hydro cost too much"
folks say you cant grow hydro without spending a few grand, but thats just not true. once again "KISS" works better most the time. the difference in growing soil or hydro inside is minimal, within 100 bucks tops. and the hydro parts are reusable for many grows, unlike soil that has to be replaced. also you save money because your grows are so much shorter. your lights and A/C are on less so less spent on ele, and buying bulbs.
in the end ppl should grow what works for them. if you like soil grow soil, if you like hydro grow hydro. having said that,,,, this is a vs thread so in the spirit of that i would just like to say hydro will own soil any day. lol
the best offense is a good defense.you seem so defensive.
