Hydrofarm Active air 6 inch In-Line Fan 400 CFM Setup ???

Okay, I got my fan and am trying to put it up in my tent and I realize that I have no idea how to secure it to the tent so that the weight of the fan won't put too much stress on the wall of the tent. Can someone explain how I should do this?

Actually what I mean is how can I put it into the side of the tent with-out putting too much pressure on the wall of the tent?

If the tent frame is too weak to support your weight (cheap ebay tents are pretty flimsy) just build a hoist with about 15$ worth of 2x3 wood

You know I think I got a pretty good one it is a 5x5x7 and is mylar with a floor cover but it probably would hold it I am probably just being over cautious but I think it is a good idea to build something to attach it to the frame at the top of the tent. It is better to put the fan at the top of the tent to help eliminate the heat as it rises to the top, is this correct thinking. Also, I understand that I should leave one of the velcro strips on the opposite side of the tent loose on the bottom in order to let air flow from one side of the tent to the other through the exhaust fan. What do you think?

just use bungee cord or some sort of straps and hang it from the top beams. tents are made to take that weight of your fan lights ducting etc. look at the specs of your tent online and see what the weight limit it is designed for and dont hang anything that would be more than that from it collectively. i usually try to stay under 75% of the max just for peace of mind. you'll be good bro.

Ive purchased tents on ebay with steel structure rated at 50lbs hanging weight. Although (theorectially) that can support my light, fan and scubber... theres no way that would trust it. I built a simple wood frame inside the tent for less than 20$ worth of material. Was easy to build and I sleep sound at night.

Mount your exhaust fan as high as possible. Your 400cfm MAY provide enough air exchange in a 5x5. Though with the same sq.ft, I needed a 4" 250cfm inlet also
