HydroFarm Active Aqua Reservoir leaks?

As the title says my "HydroFarm Active Aqua Reservoir" leaks. Actually I have 2 of my 3 leaking now. I think it is probably from 6 years of dragging them across the concrete floor on occasion. I shouldn't really complain after 6 years but..... Anyone ever repair these? I bought a new one today only to come home and change out a res then when I filled the one I had cleaned and ready it was leaking which made 2 of 3. Now I have a 4th but only 2 are good and I expect the other 6 year old one to fail like the other 2. So I was interested if anyone had any repair ideas or if anyone tried placing a pond liner in one and how that worked out for them. The more I think about it the more I like the pond liner idea to keep the ones I have around, just put the liner in but maybe that will be a PITA to clean? I see the liners for like $16 compared to $100 or so for a new reservoir.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts.

Not sure how to repair them, but I do have an idea that could stop it from happening in the future if you have the vertical space.

Get a pallet and bolt some casters to it and put your res on top of that. It’ll make it easier to move and clean. I’m guessing that you have the 50 gal since you said it costs $100.

Hope you get it fixed.

Can you post a pic? I haven't seen the AA reservoirs, but I would imagine you could get a regular tote (like the yellow lid, HDX totes) for cheap.

Should work fine. Stuff's been out for a quite a few years. But, I don't know how safe it is for roots. What I'd do is get some aquarium safe silicon and seal the inside of the tub. Then, use the flex seal for the exterior. I'd let the silicon cure for a day so there's no chemical interaction between the two.

Man that's pricey! But I understand, if you have a specific system it has to fit into. If you ever decide to venture into dwc, make sure you check out diy builds. There's a ton of them, and it'll save you so much money, both in the setup and in replacement parts.

My reservoir was less than $7.00 for example :)

The ones I had have lasted for over 6 years so I guess I can't really complain. I have ran soil, DWC, F&D, etc.. I am currently running a version of the skunkbud aero system and I need to keep my res as low to the ground as possible because the rails drain back into the res and if too tall no room for plant height for my basement grow :D

You also might want to consider those furniture mover slider things. I run heavy duty 50 gallon trash cans as reservoirs, but they have wheels. My smaller 25 gallon res doesn't have wheels, so I use furniture sliders to move it around.
