Doesn't the h202 just kill everything?I use "Power Si" in my res with h2o2……no problems. It is reccommended to add ‘Power Si" first.
It kills any fungus and bacteria, including beneficials, it doesn't discriminate. It doesn't harm the plant though.Doesn't the h202 just kill everything?
What do you use to start the bacteria? Does the water get slime and plug stuff up?I run beneficial bacteria...Southern Ag, Hydroguard...
Be careful with the h2o2 at that % it won't take much.
I put a tbsp in 25gal rez every once in awhile...of the Hydroguard. No plugging anything up....I do get a light film on the rez walls though. I run flood and drain and wick bases for soil with no issues. What do you use to start the bacteria? Does the water get slime and plug stuff up?
This works out to 1% total h202Ok thanks.. i have just cleaned and redone everything without silica & a 70ml dose of 50% h202 for 350L resevoir. So far so good.
Ok I always thought hydroguard was peroxide or something heard it come up a few times but never looked into it. Who makes it. So this eli.inates the need for sterilization of the system.I put a tbsp in 25gal rez every once in awhile...of the Hydroguard. How can I tell if I have good or bad microbes? I get some slime on airstone when usually only when I use carboblast a carbohydrate supplement from future harvest.I put a tbsp in 25gal rez every once in awhile...of the Hydroguard. Hydroguard is just a brand of beneficial bacteria....Southern Ag is another that is cheaper. It's best to go one way or the other...sterile or BB. As far as determining what you have growing now I would have no idea.....that's why it's best to go one way or the other. How can I tell if I have good or bad microbes? And if I start bb it will all be bb because they kill the bad ones?Hydroguard is just a brand of beneficial bacteria....Southern Ag is another that is cheaper. Bacillus amyloliquefaciens is a species of bacterium in the genus Bacillus that is the source of the BamHI restriction enzyme. It also synthesizes a natural antibiotic protein barnase, a widely studied ribonuclease that forms a famously tight complex with its intracellular inhibitor barstar, and plantazolicin, an antibiotic with selective activity against Bacillus anthracis.[1]And if I start bb it will all be bb because they kill the bad ones?

yes...the bb will over crowd all other bacteria. And if I start bb it will all be bb because they kill the bad ones?
Ok great thanks for info seems the bb is the way to go instead of h202. The h202 is pricey.yes...the bb will over crowd all other bacteria.
I've seen guys brewing their own bb in a pail with a airstoneyes...the bb will over crowd all other bacteria.
This, plus it only says active for a few days, Pyth comes back with a vengeance in no time so I would only use Pythoff for a sterile tank now plus it stays active for about a week.If you're running hydro, go sterile.
H2o2 is good, but at 50%, it's extremely dangerous for your eyes and skin.
When I run Hydro, I change my res once a week (2 when life gets busy) I add h2o2 every 3 days. Keeping the res cool and limiting light exposure is a tremendous help. This, plus it only says active for a few days, Pyth comes back with a vengeance in no time so I would only use Pythoff for a sterile tank now plus it stays active for about a week.
No matter what I do I get it bad without using pythoff, even when I used H2o2 with a weekly change and even a top up mid week with H2o2 it got bad after a few days, pythoff also keeps the pump pipe from clogging with it so even has another benefit for use. When I run Hydro, I change my res once a week (2 when life gets busy) I add h2o2 every 3 days. I find this also happens to me but only when I use carboblast in flower mostly what is pythoff. I was using a product called tarantula from advanced nutrients seemed to be foggy still but no slime on resivior. I do drain to waste in coco coir water every hr with a bit of run off most timesNo matter what I do I get it bad without using pythoff, even when I used H2o2 with a weekly change and even a top up mid week with H2o2 it got bad after a few days, pythoff also keeps the pump pipe from clogging with it so even has another benefit for use.
Could work but a very expensive way of going about it. (plus fuck AN)I I was using a product called tarantula from advanced nutrients
