Hydroponic research VBX

What’s going on everyone?

So I’ve had to change my nutrients up half way down the line as the one I was using wasn’t working for me.

I was explaining to the guy in the hydro store that I was having problems and it was my first time under LED and he suggested using VBX, which apparently is tailored to LED. He gave me a free 450g sample, I’ve been feeding it for a week now at 1.2ec and the girls have taken to it really well, happiest I’ve seen them.

Just a couple of questions, it says on the VBX feed chart (attached) that it recommends the EC to be 2.2-2.4 I thought this was mega high but apparently it’s ok as the feed is specifically for LED? Just really unsure of this? They are currently on 1.2ec

Second question is that I’ve never used powdered nutrients before, is there any preferred way of mixing it? It’s really time consuming mixing the nutrients into room temperature water, it doesn’t dissolve until I’ve actually been sat there mixing it for at least half an hour. Surely there is an easier way to do this?

Say for example if I’m using 10L of water in total, would it be ok to mix the nutrients into 0.5L of hot water then add that 0.5L to the final 9.5L if that makes sense?

Never heard of it. I use floraflex, and although they have low med and high strength I just mix the low 1.4ish ec and feed 4 times a day. I'm running a fce8000 @ 100% in a 5x5. I tried the med strength in my 3x3 and found it was hindering the flowers more than helping them.
The higher EC levels imo are for large plants, I run med/small plants so ec doesn't need to be that high. Once I switched it to low strength they started getting bigger again. Hope that helps?
I mix in a 15gal drum, with my Makita 18v and a paint paddle. Mixes up in minutes. I'm just about to mix some right now
'Taylor made' for LEDs is a marketing gimmick.

Thank you for this info bro! They definitely don’t need the 2.2ec as stated now you say it as they are only medium sized anyway.

haha you make that sound easy with the drill! I will have to try it that way, have you ever tried to mix the powder into small amounts of warm water though then adding this into the final mix before?

Thanks again for this

it’s not just a gimmick really though is it. Many people are struggling with the transition from hps to LED as depending on the quality of the light m, there are a number of changes neededto be madeto feed schedule. Cal mag for one with many strains needs to be heavier. I’ve been using the VBX for my last run, more for the ease and far less bottles and just intrigue and had great results so far, day 35View attachment 5276504

I don't use calmag. It depends what nutes you are using of you need to or not.
