aero is awesome way to hydro grow! and would recommend it for someone interested in growing hydroponically. never heard of aero pro - who makes that? what was the problem with it?

i was part of another thread that was having problems with (I think it was) one of those aerogarden things - anyway - turns out the pH adjusters the grower was using was what was causing the reservoir problems.

you could carefull pull out the discolored rootmass. it could cause you problems. you could also use some sort of zyme product. hygrozyme i think.

this sounds like good advice. BioBizz RootJuice might help the other roots grow and something along the lines of FloraShield could help keep anything nasty from taking hold.

I use hygrozyme. Works great. It will break down the old dying roots and turn it in to food for your other plants roots system.

Guys thankyou very much the aero pro thing is something i got off off ebay
Problems let me list from the start
1. holes clogged in the first 2 weeks
2. the square pvc wasn't sealed fully so started leaking
3. roots clogged draining hole
4. not enough space between growing spots plants grow into each other

that's what i use - which i why i mentioned it. the choice is overwhelming, isn't it?
Thanks for pointing that out... I'm gonna have to read more carefully :)

Oh by the way if the mister heads are clogging you have a few things you can do... First try a filter bag. This is a bag that the pump goes into and filters the larger chunks out of your solution. Annother thing you can try is to tighten up any of the connections with plastic zip ties, this can help to increase the water pressure at the heads. If the tubing is flexible vynil, you could try going to straight PVC this will also tend to improve the water pressure. Finally, you could try getting a pump with a higher GPH output. I did a bit of research and found that the lowest rated pump that EZ clone uses on it's line of aeroponic cloning machines is like 500gph. Good luck with this.

got pictures of your setup?

3. do you leave your system on 24/7? I started turning mine off for a while, about an hour or so a day, which was a mistake because it allowed the plants roots to grow into the spray nozzle... thereby clogging it.

4. I dont think you can avoid this in multi-site aero/hydro systems. I had my roots wrap around the hydro manifold in the rez and tie themselves into complex sailor knots... so when I try to lift the lid, it lifts the pump, manifold, strainer bag on the pump...etc. etc. There are beautiful roots EVERYWHERE, but that is a really good thing, When I noticed the roots in my plants taking off, the plants went berzerk with growth.

Also, I dont think multi-site hydro systems are good for letting your plants grow normally, from what I gather so far, I think they have to be trimmed in the lollipop method, or the plants grow into one another.

Give your aero unit a chance and try to work the kinks out, i'm sure it'll get better.

Now I have to go price some hygrozyme or florashield, the cheaper product wins!

Thanks guys, by all means im a optimistic person but it didn't even come with spray nozzels it came with holes in a plastic black tubing that runs the length of the pvc and each hole hits the bottom of the net cups, its like a cheap version of aeroponics i will attach the link below to see what it is, the concept of the system is cool it comes with everything the floranutes and how to hydroponics and aeroponics feeding chart on a cd and rockwool cubes ,hydroton, net cups ,400gph pump, the idea is great nut the craftmanship of the product itself sucks,
