Hello All,
So check this out...
What we think is hydroton is actually ceramsite and it comes from China.
When we think of hydroton what we are actually thinking of is "Haydite" which was invented in 1917.
Then some time ago they stopped making haydite and the hydroton soucres ran dry...
Then one day Sunlight Supply magically had an abundant supply of "hydroton" for everyone!!!
But it's really ceramsite.
In 2006 a Chinese inventor submitted a patent claim for a "haydite" like expanded clay that is made from, of all things sewage sludge!!!
The patent number is
CN101148346A
Other "haydite" inventions have been for the sequestering of phosphate as well as a way to recycle fly ash (the ash made from burning coal), all the way to concrete aggirgates to lighten up concrete.
Now seeing as how none of us really know what our "hydroton" is made of, I thought you should all know that there is a slight possibility that it could be made from poop...
Keep in mind, it has been heated to well over 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit and any part of the hydroton that was human has now been reduced to it's basic minerals...
It's not like you could do a DNA test and find out who's poop it came from...
