hydroton+rockwool setup please help

I have made a flood table and want to use 3in rockwool cubes then transplant into buckets filled with hydroton. The nutrients are Dyna gro bloom+gro, Pro-Tekt and cal-mag. I also sometimes use superthrive and always use PH and ppm meters. Anything i should know about flood and drain times? my timer can only do 15 minute incriments so it would be 15 mins of water flow per cycle. any suggestions? It isnt a field of hydroton theyre going to be in pots with a 6" diameter that are 8.5" tall. i will then fill the flood tray with them and 8 flexible air stones that go on and off with the flood timer. There is going to be a seperate pump with an air stone constantly aierating the resevoir. . the space is a 3 ft x 4 ft with a light mover and two 4-foot double t'5's going along the track. the track moves a 400w hps back and forth. I was also thinking of some sort of caps to prevent black flies (fungus gnats). I have had problems before with gnats and was also wondering what a good treatment is for them. I already put up fly traps and am working on decreasing the # of cycles. any thing is greatly appreciated but i am sticking to the dyna grow nutes i bought so was wondering on other things that may help me

bought rockwool starter plugs today. i plan to go from these to a 3" rockwool cube then into the pots with the dimensions told above, filled with hydroton. picked up mighty bomb today and also trying to find some sort of coco material i can cut my own caps to go over the hydroton (to prevent algae growth). the tray is gonna hold around 30 of these and theyll be veggeed for a week or so then put to flower. i plan on having them under 2 feet tall

No need for coco Hydroton won't get algae just the rock wool so just make sure you cover it with the hydroton and before you even use the hydroton make sure you wash them off real good. Use mosquito dunks in the res and it will keep the gnats at bay.

can i use a dixie cup with hydroton instead of transplanting the rockwool starter plugs into bigger rockwools before i go to the pots i mentioned?

Yeah but you'll have to make sure they don't dry out for hydroton doesn't hold water that long.
