I am getting opposite results.

These are Gorilla Glue that went 12/12 back on October 10th. Today is day 47 flowering. I don't think they're gong to make it much longer.

What am I doing wrong?

Basement, 80" tall tent, 1000W HPS, 3 gal. pots, straight FFOF, Advance trio w/Big Bud and Bud Candy @ EC 1.6 w/13% run-off, I also gave plain water if run-off EC goes above 2, Temps range between 70F @ lights out and 80F with lights on, RH ranges between 38 and 42%. I have a dehumidifier going and it stays on constantly.

Small, spindly buds, no smell. Just look at them, it's a wreck.

I think I had a spider mite problem and also noticed a PM problem about three weeks ago. I tried one of the topical sprays and that only made the PM bloom. About a week ago per recommendation I started sulfur burns which I think is working on the PM and spider mites. I see mite casualties under 25x.

Too much nitrogen past the first few weeks of flower can cause small buds. Also, how far are you keeping your light from the tops of your plants? Too much distance between tops n light can cause stretching n skinny branches. I'd also reccomend an oscillating fan in there to keep air circulating, which in turn lowers humidity, reduces chance of PM n mold, plus it helps strengthen your stems / branches. You don't want hurricane conditions, but a gentle breeze that makes the leaves wiggle a little bit. To my eyes, they look a little burnt from over feeding, maybe cut back the food a little bit? I'm not an expert n maybe somebody with better advice will chime in but that's what I'd do. Best of luck to ya.

Thanks.

I have two fans zip tied to opposite ends of the tent ceiling blowing opposite directions, at like 30 degree angles, so there is air movement. I also have an exhaust fan and tent flaps are open. The tent air is exchanging.

Thinking about nitrogen, I don't start using nutes until flowering starts. Maybe I should just ditch the nutes.

The bottom of the light fixture is between 9" (for the talls) and 16" (for the shorts) from the tops of the plants. Take a look:

OK. What can I do about the light?

I have the VIVOSUN 120"x60"x80" tent. You guys are using the same/similar.

How many and what size lights should I be using? Right now I was using 2, 1000Watters.

In that space I would only have 1 light , preferably on a dimable ballest . Set on 600 first few weeks and work up to 1000 or 1100 if boost is available .
That's what I do anyhow ,
Run my plants under 400 for 3 weeks then 440 for a week and now 660w for final 2-3 weeks depending

Why only one light in a 10'x5' tent? From what I read here on RIU, one 1k is recommended for a 5x5 area. That would mean two 1Ks for the square footage of this tent, right?

The ballasts I have now are Nanolux 1000 base, Dimming Settings: 110%, 100%, 75%, 50%.

I don't think heat from the light is the problem.

Are you thinking 1K intensity is too much at this close range? Once I factor the 20" of overhead consumed by the light, open space between light and plant top.... If intensity is the problem, I should tone down to 600W ballasts or even 400w.

Thanks.

You need those fans down further. If they're up top blowing down... they are just pushing hot air towards the plants. Hot air rises naturally. So you want them down blowing up...

Don't ditch them just make sure you are using them properly. Looks to me like your fan leaves are basically useless at this point.. that affects photosynthesis. Lots of small problems here are cresting this overall big problem.

In my 4x4 I have 1 6" clip on fan at the very top opposite corner of the tent from my exhaust/CF

It is just blowing any air it can up there at the exhaust.
On the ground I have 3 8" fans on high blowing different directions but blowing the air in vortex motion if that makes sense. They build off each other. Move my plants. And really help keep the temps down.

Honestly if you don’t have to have it for discretionary reasons. Ditch the tent with 2x 1000w lights. You will have a different set of issues to deal with. You’re biggest struggle will be rh. Which will hang in an open room always at about 35%. Scale the nutes back a little and you should be able to conquer it.

All of this is your problem. Pretty sure bad idea to burn sulfur past day 14 of 12/12. Mixed with the spraying you did is a recipe for thrashing leaves.
Next time go into 12/12 with all that already done. Burn sulfur last day of 18/6, spray your bug spray week 2 of 18/6. And most important stay out of your grow area after being about or at the garden store without showering.

Right now I only have one 1000W bulb going. Last week PM took 5 other plants so I switched from two fixtures to one. With the one 1000W bulb going the temperature in the tent is the same as outside the tent 70 - 71F. RH in the tent is the same outside of the tent. I have the exhaust fan set to 50% of max. Max is 440 CFM. At this point the tent is my light-leak proof area.

Agreed about the small cascading problems.
