My cheap LEDs seem to do good for me and I have no complaints, most all LEDs are made in China

Hey dude, cool photo! I'm looking at purchasing of these unbranded 600w LEDs, do you run these?. I have the vipar 600 and its great, i am looking at using it to flower in the next week or two. Im setting up a separate veg room and hoping one of these unbranded units at a third of the price will be suitable. What would you advise? Thanks

My LEDs are a Mars II 900, Growstar 1000 and 2 Higrow 500. I have a BESTVA 600 still in box haven't used it yet thinking of using it for 1 plant draw wattage is only 130 ish. You can searc Ebay and Amazon I'm sure you can find 1 for you to use for veg. Heres a pic of my latest set up

Really my results beg to differ most all LEDs are made in China so you can pay more for the higher priced LEDs with the same lights as the cheaper ones you just have to look at what you buy. These people asked about the cheaper LEDs and mine work awesome

If you're trying to start some mother plants full sprectur LED's are shit. Expect herms if you're choosing "fulll spectrum " led's for mother plants

Who cares about yield if it's crap weed? All the blurple bud I've grown and smoked has been complete crap. If you only want to make easy money then yeah, sure, go with Mars Hydro or any other cheap eBay fixture. If you're going to be getting high on your own supply, then you'll surely appreciate the complex smells and flavors, interesting highs and beautiful, dense buds you get with just about any other light source. CMH if you want the best, COBs if you want the second best.

ps. working under white light is so much better.

Actually a mixed spectrum works best from all my reading that's why I also do supplemental lights that I make myself first was CFLs then changed to CREE leds from wally world 20 bucks for 4 16 watt 1600 lumes and they work GREAT. That's the art of growing NO ONE WILL GROW THE SAME WAY what works for 1 may not work for others to each his on. HAPPY GROWING

I normally look at the 50V cobs, but one of the higher voltage Vero29s caught my eye.
https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/bridgelux/BXRC-30E10K0-C-73/976-1398-ND/6152408 These guys are rated at 118W at test current and voltage.
I want to use 3 of them at about 80W each on a 240W driver which would though not being in LM561c territory, still be in the 160ish lm/W if that counts for anything these days.

I only saw one driver on digikey that looks like a loose fit. HLG-240H-C1750B which is a 142V 1.75A constant current driver. total cost before heatsink is about $150 or roughly 63c/W

Any thoughts on this?

Normally we just use 3 50V COBS on HLG240-54A

Would be a nice and powerful setup, ANC. l see not reasons to change anything. Incl. heatsink maybe 1$/w which is really good in my opinion.

I did some further sums. It would appear 2 x 4-board quantum fixtures + 2 x HLG-480H-C2100A would cost less than $100 more to slap together than the number of veros and drivers to cover an equivalent area.

Guess I need to find out how much shipping is going to run on 8 boards and heatsinks. I actually have an idea how to make an extractor hood for these. that wouldn't break the bank.

Is there a difference between the two form factors being offered in the boards?
