I could say the nice parts and not be lying.
If you actually look at Africa today. The nicest parts are the countries that had very strong colonial presence from Europe.
Sierra Leone and ivory coast compared to Liberia.
French colonial presence in Ivory coast make that place a well developed modern place compared to Liberia.
Kenya, strong English presence, has it all over its neighbors.
Rhodesia was a paradise because of German and English colonial presence.
In short, to the extent you can call anything decent in africa, it is owed to colonialism.
That's what they asked me at the hospital today. "Have you been to Africa in the last 21 days". I told her no, and that it had been 22 days since I got back from Liberia.
