i hear most of what he's saying. basically there's only so much (money, caring, etc.) you can spread among so many people. if you spread it too thin you are neglecting yourself and those who are closest to you, and this is counter-survivalism. basically that being caring to a fault is dangerous. i buy that. my mom just evicted a friend of 30 years that overstayed her welcome. the lady had literally been mooching my mother into the poorhouse and dystroying the apartment and my mother allowed it to continue for *12 years* because she felt guilty about kicking her out. let that sink in for a moment. yes i hear the op. caring run amok could bring about our doom just as much as hatred could. it might take longer, but doom nontheless. just ask china with their birth laws. some call it barbarric or inhumaine to limit births, the chinese consider it imperitave to their survival.

What does give a shit really mean? To me it means about as much as missing an episode of the Simpsons. I give money each weak to sponsor a child, but that kid could live or die and it wouldn't bother me. The only reason I give money is because it makes me feel good about myself. If I really gave a shit I would get on a plan go to Africa and adopt the little fucker.

The other day a person repeated the much voiced reason for going to war with Afghanistan......the women couldn't vote.......I don't give a shit.
